Hey everyone,

New here and wanted to introduce myself.  My current home place is Little Washington, VA out in the Shennendoah Mountains.  I work at Copper Fox Distillery and on my days off I'm constantly looking for new hunting holes.  I grew up in Stafford, VA and know many "honey holes" in that area.  Last year we tore up the bass... but then we got "hooked" on snakehead.  Im addicted to catching these guys. They fight hard and make a real good meal.  I'm thinking of starting a topic to discuss snakehead. Where to find them, how to catch them and posting pics.

Thanks and hope to learn from y'all and share my experiences!

Please catch and take home as many snakeheads as possible out of the Potomac!

Welcome to the Forum. There are a lot of Virginia guys on the site and we have a good time sharing information.

Welcome Alex, you've found a good place to hang out.   Please tell me you don't have Snakeheads out your way!

We have had many discussions on the Northern Snakeheads on these forums, take some time to search  the forums and you'll learn a great deal.

The best advice I can offer is to know the law with regard to the Snakeheads, many do not and that's a problem.  Just the other day I was at the launch and saw a small group of anglers, here from out of state, standing around a Snakeheads laying on the parking lot - it was still alive!   That's not good and could result in a fine.  I've collected a lot of documentation I could share with you, just PM me if your interested.

Here's a link I think you'll like  http://fishwild.vt.edu/snakeheads/

Thanks man, I appreciate it.  Trust me, I know the regulations! My buddy and I caught some tagged ones last year and turned them in for our "Snakehead Control" hats! They sent us a lot of information about the species in general.  But I love catching them! But I think I enjoy eating them more than catching them!
