hello, im new to the site, and glad to be a new member. i just wanted to get some recomendations on what is the toughest and long lasting line and ib test that is more suitable for my reels and lure type. i mostly fish heavy cover, like weed beds, lilly pads, around stumps and logs, and sometimes out in the ope channel between both sides of lilly pads. And im looking for some reviews on the phluger echelon rod and reel combo that im looking to buy
my reels:
Pinnacle Platinum plus lp100 6.2:1 gear ratio baitcaster-used for spinner baits
Phluger president spinning reel-used for jigging and fishing with senkos

Sufix 832. 8-15lb on your spinning. 30-50 on your baitcaster.  If you're a leader type, you can buy a cheaper spool of mono or fluoro for that.

On the rig you plan to use for lighter or more open water presentations,

try the Tuf-Line Super Cast #20 for $4.99 (BR Special).

For heavy cover (lilly pads) give the Seaguar Kanzen #30 a try.

Welcome to the site!

Line opinions are varied and plentiful! Personally, I'm an original Power Pro fan. I've tried some mentioned already and haven't warmed up to them thus far.

My spinning gear has 10 lb test yellow and I tie on various leaders. My main baitcaster has 20 lb test yellow PP and various leader material. Other BC I rarely use has 40lb test green PP + leader...

If you're fishing that kinda cover I'd buy a spool of braid b/c it'll last you all season if not multiple seasons.

Maybe 20# Tuf Line on the spinning reel. This line will fish well in the grass and be more manageable than mono/FC on your spinning reel.

Maybe 15# mono on the spinning bait rod/reel. You can get a bulk spool of Trilene Big Game for $8 that'll last you a long time.

Welcome to the forum.  Lots of good people here.  How about filling in a few blank spaces in your profile?  Knowing the area where you live can sometimes help as can knowing your age.  For example, I would never recommend a $600 reel to a teenager.....unless his Dad is buying it for him.

Don't know how braid holds up on stumps and logs, but it is the cat's meow for weeds and lily pads.  I would suggest 40# minimum for the b/c reel.  Some people get away with fishing 20# braid on a b/c reel while others have digging in problems.  One thing I can tell you is a sudden stop on a cast when using braid often costs a lure.  That sudden stop will snap the line.  I've done it easily with 30# braid and a 1/2 oz jig on a MH spinning rod.  That same line will straighten out a jig hook when pulled slowly.

Don't know the size of your spinning reel, but 12# Tuf-Line SuperCast might be a good choice.  I am not a fan of heavy mono or fluoro on a normal size bass spinning reel.  I don't like using heavier than 10# on my spinning reels.  8# is my preferred choice when not using braid.

I would seriously be worried about braids abrasion resistance on those stumps and logs. Sure, you can get high rated lb test braid, but if something sharp rubs on it its game over.

A nice handling heavier lb test fluorcarbon with good abrasion resistance will be a beast in that type of cover. 15lb or 20lb tatsu, something like that is tough to beat and has great longevity. You can get three spools out of it with backing. Depending how much you fish it will last a long time.

Braid is reputed to be terribly lacking in abrasion resistance to rocks, which I usually don't fish around. However, I think it's outstanding against wood and vegetation, so that would be my choice. My experience is with 15# Power Pro and, to a lesser extent, same strength Fireline braid.

I use seagar invisX #12 on baitcasters, Spiderwire mono on spinning #10-#12.

powerpro super slick in 50 lb or higher on baitcasters.20 or 10 pound on spinning.never go below 50 lb on baitcasting.the thicker braid stops any digging in.i would not buy a pflueger baitcaster below the trion.the trion and up are all good reels.
