Nick94 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 hi how can i cast light lures, like 1/8 oz and 1/6 oz real easy on a baitcasting setup? and any recommendations for a spinning setup for casting these weights? thanks in advance Nick Quote
scrutch Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I don't even try to cast anything lighter than 3/16 on a baitcaster. You're just asking for a headache. Spinning tackle is the way to go IMO for stuff that light. Quote
Blue Streak Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 You can do it under the right conditions but you will get much better results with spinning gear. Quote

Super User Goose52 Posted May 10, 2010 Super User Posted May 10, 2010 I have a 6' light power bc rod and a BPS ProLite bc reel and throw down to 1/6oz on 8lb mono (and I may try 6lb on this rig someday). Otherwise, IMO spinning gear is the way to go when you're under 1/4oz. Quote
