Oh I know whats it's like during the swarm but not how it affects the fishing, I'm guessing the top water is hot at first

Bass, crappie, bluegills, bream, pumpkinseeds, shell crackers and even catfish will eat those pests.

Fun fishing with them under a bobber.

Lots of smaller fish will hit them but sooner or later a nice bass will clobber your  bait.

Collect a bunch and take a kid fishing.

We had them 2 years ago here in Missouri. It made for some awesome fun with slow top water baits like jitter bugs and poppers. There were so many flying in the air sometimes it looked like smoke filling the sky. Pretty amazing sight really. I remember looking at one of the trees in the yard and not seeing any bark because every inch of that tree had a cicada on it.

Google search Megabass Siglett.....

Hahaha, cicadas are terribly annoying with the sound they make, but they are awesome to use for bait when you're bored and want to have a little fun :D

I know the bass will have fun this year, and I will have free bait.
