Going thru my jig box, I noticed I have several jigs with wide gap hooks. Hardly any shank to put the trailer on. I don't remember where I purchased these, but what benefit is there to having wide gap hooks on a jig?

I don't mind them at all! I like them still. I noticed you do have less place for the trailer but I still like them.

Are you meaning short shank hook?? Vs gap? Sometimes a real small jig presentation can work to your advantage. Just like downsizing soft plastics. Put a smaller trailer on them like the old famous zoom swimmin chunk and give them a try.
