Is live target worth the money? They seem so realistic but in a real world application does it make difference?

Its not just the finish you are buying with more expensive baits. Its things like weight transfer, tungesten inside rather than steel, better fitment of the halves....

Realism doesn't matter to a fish IMHO. They see a bait going by and attack it because it is getting away most of the time. I think the extreme realism of livetarget lures is a bit of a gimmick, but they are definitely VERY high quality, well-designed lures. They do as advertised, and the finish is very tough. Good hooks too.

Yes, they are very much worth it IMHO. They can with stand punishment from bass and the hooks are Daiichi's which are some very sturdy and needle sharp hooks.

Like everyone's mentioned, the quality is definetly there. I just got the new squarebills and love them. The hooks on $6 squarebill eventually break or dull along with the finish that eventually wears off. The looks alone give me more confidence which does wonders to success vs. the action. It's like gambling - if you don't have the money to lose, don't gamble because eventually you'll lose the crankbait.

The only freshwater Live Target baits I use are the mouse and frog. Both are very very good topwater baits. When I was on vacation I used a Live Target swimming mullet and landed several blue fish. It casted like a rocket, and after several blues and a few unknown fish that got off, it looked as it did when I took it out of the package. It ran true, even in the surf that I was fishing, I ended up buy 4 more Live Target hard baits in the mullet pattern. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a freshwater crank from them. I just don't do much crankbait fishing, or I would have a few.

I 100% will always buy Live Target baits.  They're top quality and they're customer service is 2nd to none.  Bought a bait a couple years ago and the finish started peeling after the first use.  Emailed them with photos of the bait, and they took care of the issue in no time at all.  You won't regret buying a few.

I am quite happy with every Live Target bait I've purchased. I especially love the soft bodied frogs, excellent details and action.  I have heard complaints about the hooks, but I haven't had a single problem with them, as sharp as anything else I've used.

Can't speak for them all, but late last season I did take a few decent smb on the Rainbow Smelt & the Yellow Perch Jerkbaits.

And I'll be hoping to duplicate that success here again in a few weeks.

In the book "Knowing Bass", Keith Jones says that a bass processes objects with three times the detail that we do. Where we see a blur, the bass sees detail.

This being said, I think the Live Target makes a difference.

I have a smaller one in a bluegill pattern and have yet to use it. Will be trying it out this week hopefully with the nice weather we'll be having. In ponds in the midatlantic do you all think there is any color better than bluegill? It seems to be main forage in the area
