TNBassin' Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 exactly, its still a hellva rod for $30.. i know ill find good use for it, picking it up tomorrow on my way home, may even slap a reel on it and take it down to the local pond for a few casts depending on the weather After getting that *** Wednesday, I can't even look at another rod. Except the *** of course lol. Quote
motodmast Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 If i lived near you, i would let you try mine, its simply amazing. Its the exact same as the ***, but better. Lol if that makes since. The *** is comparable to $200 rods, the *** is comparable to $400+rods. My next puechase is gonna be memorial day sale on tw for a 7'1 or 7'3 Medium *** Black. I need one for light jigs, flukes senkos all those lightweight baits Quote
TNBassin' Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 They are something else. I usually don't go for rods made by companies that aren't established, but I just couldn't resist with the Omens after hearing praise after praise for them. Had my local tackle shop actually been able to get my Villain in, I would've never even thought of buying an ***. Glad it worked out for me lol. Awesome rods. Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted April 12, 2013 Super User Posted April 12, 2013 Hm, well just checked my order status and it looks like I'll have mine tomorrow after work. Also have a revo s that should be here tomorrow as well. Really curious how well they will balance together. That revos pretty light. I'd say it should work well Quote
motodmast Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Just got home with mine, 7'medium. They are the gen1 but it feels light & looks good. I didnt see a reason for me to try and get the gen 2. Now to go fish it Quote
I.rar Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Got mine and paired it with a revo s and like it so far. I'll try to fish with it this weekend and see how it performs. Definitely a fast tip like I was hoping for. Best deal I've got on a rod, ever. Big thanks to the OP! 1 Quote
nocluefisher Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I'm pretty positive it's gen 2 as it said "next generation". I walked back to the fishing rods and looked at the others and the one I had seemed nicer. I'll post a pic. This is the same one I received as well, It says next generation precision tuned. I got the 7 m Quote
Nubbins1911 Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Received my 7' rod and its defiantly last years model but still a good deal and even better I only paid $20.96 for mine. I received a rebate of $10.50 after I sent and email complaining about them using a photo of a Vendetta2 in there ad. 1 Quote
Trailer Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 No complaints here. Just received mine today. Shipped quicker than expected but it helps when the company is based and born in your home state. Mine is a 7' M and as expected has some backbone despite being medium. Best deal ever on a rod. Quote
Nubbins1911 Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Our local WM now has this as a in store one time offer of $29.96 4/14-4/20 Quote
Blues19 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Our local WM now has this as a in store one time offer of $29.96 4/14-4/20 I was about to post this as well. They were on a different wall than the other walls. Both spinning and baitcasting. I may get spinning and another baitcasting Quote
Blues19 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I used mine for the first time with my new reel. All I threw today was a spinnerbait and the rod seemed a bit too stiff for that. I will use it for smaller plastics and jigs and maybe topwaters. Really light rod. Great deal! Quote
mtaag3 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I fished mine heavily today side by side with my BPS JM Carbonlite and I've got to admit I actually prefer my BPS Carbonlite. The rods are identical except the BPS has the micro guides and I don't know if that would make a difference or not. The Abu is still a great rod for the money and it will get plenty of use but I guess I though it would be better than it seems/ Quote
motodmast Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Ya i used mine for a little, it just seemed dead to me, like no sensitivity compared to my other rods, i think imma take it back and get my money back and save for a better rod. Quote
Nick49 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 After ordering and picking up two "online ship to store" older model Vendettas I noticed a local ad for the Vendettas for $29.96, so I took the ad and selected a 7' MH Vendetta spinning rod (next generation). They were very hesitatant to honor the ad, insisted that it was an "error" in the ad, but with the ad literally in their hand they pretty much had to honor it - which they did. I realize the Walmart rods take a beating on the shelf, but I have liked the fact that if you break a tip they provide a replacement no questions asked. I wonder how they will handle that policy when/if you have to return one of the older model Vendettas? Quote

The Vendetta is a nice rod, but it's not that nice. The Vendetta 2 is nice but I still would go with a Carbonlite probably, though my new SX sits on a V2. Quote

The Vendetta 2 is nice but I still would go with a Carbonlite probably, though my new SX sits on a V2. Well I'm inexperienced and really didn't grasp the quality of the Carbonlite. I assumed (erroneously) that the brand name would be better, and it possibly is at the higher range offerings. To be honest, I think almost all of my rods will be the Carbonlte series, I just like the way it feels in my hand. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted April 15, 2013 Super User Posted April 15, 2013 It's in their ad flyer now, no model specified Sorry for the side photo Available from the 14th to 20th Quote
Super User tomustang Posted April 15, 2013 Super User Posted April 15, 2013 Just bought two of the newer ones in store, CSM did the override Quote
wordty Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I bought 4 of them Is the 7 foot MEDIUM baitcaster good for a cranking rod? Is a 7 foot MEDIUM good for a flipping / pitching rod? Quote

I think the 7ft medium is good for squarebills, rattle traps, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, i wouldnt use it for jigs or plastics though,it dosnt have much sensitivity Quote

Maybe the extra 6" makes it a bit more limber. I like a pretty soft rod with a spinnerbait Quote
wordty Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 At Wally World where I live they were not marked down but the guy at the register got a sale flyer and saw the price then honored it (after saying it may have been a one day sale...he then saw it was good all week and said "great deal" and rang em up at the sale price.) Quote
MediumHeavy Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 They're not marked that price at my local store, but if you take it to one of the self-scanners they come up $29.95. I just snagged a 6'9 medium light spinning rod that I totally didn't need! 1 Quote
