mtaag3 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I got my rod today. I'm excited as it's a Gen 2 as it says "Next Generation" on the rod. It's a nice rod and I can't believe it was $29.00 It it was a MH it would be perfect but I'm not complaining. Quote

I believe kylek said he received a gen 1, I guess its a crap shoot for which one you will receive! Quote

I'm pretty positive it's gen 2 as it said "next generation". I walked back to the fishing rods and looked at the others and the one I had seemed nicer. I'll post a pic. Quote

kylek Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 That is last years model. Still a good rod for the price. Quote
mtaag3 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 That is last years model. Still a good rod for the price. Well, I'm still happy as a clam and to be honest could not tell the difference. As you said it's a great rod for the price and I'm excited to have it. Feel real nice with that reel. Thanks for the good info. Quote
kylek Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I haven't put a reel on mine yet. I didn't care for the way the trigger felt on last years model. The reel seat on the new one feels like the ones on my Veritas rods. Just more comfortable to me. Can't wait to test it out this weekend!! What are you going to use yours for? Quote
mtaag3 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I'm going to use it as a general use rod. Texas Rigs, Jigs, TW and Spinnerbaits. It's a 7' M. What do you think it would be good for? Quote
kylek Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I think for now anyways it is going to be for spinnerbaits and some topwater baits. Jerkbaits might be good too!!! Quote
motodmast Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I ordered the 7ft one as well, i think itll make a good spinnerbait/ rattletrap senko and light texas rig rod. Should also be good for some topwaters Quote

Blues19 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I got the 6'6" and am thinking I will use mine for topwater and smaller texas rigged baits. Gonna be my back up spinnerbait rod as well. Feels like a really nice rod. Wish I would have gotten a 2nd Quote
Nick49 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Picked up my two $29 M 6'6" Vendettas this afternoon (ship to store). I believe they are the older version, but very satisfied. Most of my applications call for a MH, but these Mediums are pretty stout. Quote
motodmast Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 to those of you who have gotten the rod, does it have enough tip to throw a square bill pretty good? Quote
I.rar Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 So you guys are throwing jigs and t rigs on medium action rods? Or am I confused and these are medium POWER/fast Action? Quote
motodmast Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 So you guys are throwing jigs and t rigs on medium action rods? Or am I confused and these are medium POWER/fast Action? 1/4 oz jigs and a small 3.5in craw on 2/0 hook with 3/16 bullet weight. easier to fish them on a M then MH for me. and there rods are more than a regular M id say between M and MH Quote
I.rar Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Hm, well just checked my order status and it looks like I'll have mine tomorrow after work. Also have a revo s that should be here tomorrow as well. Really curious how well they will balance together. 1 Quote
TNBassin' Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 My apologies guys. I thought these were the V2s since the description and pic that walmart.com posted were of the V2. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up. Quote

Sorry to get everyone's hopes up. hey dawg, it still seems like a heck of a rod. Im not concerned that it is a V2. The appearance looks better with the reel I strapped onto that mug. Gonna be awesome Quote
TNBassin' Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 Well hopefully the gen 1s work out well for everyone. I really liked mine, and thought they were great rods. For $30 I don't think you can beat it. Quote
