Super User Fishes in trees Posted April 4, 2013 Super User Posted April 4, 2013 Over the course of the past few years, probably a wacky rigged senko - green pumpkin with tiny purple flakes. Quote
wademaster1 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 There are better lures for different situations...right now I'm loving the cranks Quote
Super User Darren. Posted April 4, 2013 Super User Posted April 4, 2013 Over the course of the past few years, probably a wacky rigged senko - green pumpkin with tiny purple flakes. Likewise, but in watermelon gold flake for me. A very close second is the wacky rigged Zoom Finesse worm in watermelon magic or green pumpkin with a chartreuse tip. Quote
endless Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I haven't gotten out yet this year but last year I agree with Cranks. I had great success on a Bandit 200.But after that it was a senko in Plum Apple wacky. Quote
RAMBLER Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Zoom trick worm,watermelon/red, weightless, T-rig. Quote
HookSetDon Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 What's. t-rigged weightless ? Texas rigged without a weight Quote
Super User MCS Posted April 4, 2013 Super User Posted April 4, 2013 Rattlesnake T-rigged weightless or with a 1/16 oz bullet wright. Never fails me. Quote
JigMe Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Not sure how to define "best lure", but 70-80% of my bass were caught using Jig or Swim Jig. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Weightless soft plastics... Slugos are my favorite, excellent action. 2 Quote
SuskyDude Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Whats the best lure YOU use? Ahhh....fishing forums in the early spring! Don't worry so much about what you use this time of year. Notice how many different answers you got? Any and all of them will work. When bass put their prespawn feedbags on you could tie a rock on your line and catch them. WHERE you use the bait and how you present it is far more important. Find the fish on the body of water, put the lure in there face, and you'll most likely get bit. All that said, its tubejigs (smallies) and t-rigged lizards/worms (largies) for me! Quote
wademaster1 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Texas rigged without a weight I'm aware of that, but what I'm saying is doesn't the rig have to have a weight to make it texas rigged? How is it a texas rig if it has no weight? 1 Quote
WiscoBassman Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 The best lure I use... it's really hard to decide. I haven't caught a majority of my bass on just one lure. It may sound odd but I haven't caught a bass on a spinnerbait or a jig EVER. I catch most of them on crankbaits, topwater or senkos. I would have to say that my best lure is a 3" silver x-rap. Quote
mnbassman23 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 1/2oz NSCB New Gill colored Flip and Swim. With either a berkley havoc subwoofer or grass pig for a trailer. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted April 5, 2013 Super User Posted April 5, 2013 Mann's 1 minus in the 3/8 and 1/4 size. Quote
SuskyDude Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I'm aware of that, but what I'm saying is doesn't the rig have to have a weight to make it texas rigged? How is it a texas rig if it has no weigh In general: T-rigged: AS you know it, with the weight T-rigged weightless: Still use the same style offset shank hook and weedless rigging, no weight Florida Rig: T-rigged, but with the weight pegged or screwed into the bait 2 Quote
ColdSVT Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 last season a t-rigged sweet beaver in magic craw swirl was my best producer followed closely by a black and blue jig havnt gotten out yet this year Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 5, 2013 Super User Posted April 5, 2013 The Best Lure I use, is whatever I have The Most Confidence In. Lack of confidence with most any bait means No Bites . . . . . . . A-Jay Quote
TriCityBassin' Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Most versatile, most used. Baits from Charlie Brewer Slider Company. Quote
The Next KVD Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 PowerTeam Lures 4.5" Food Chain Tube probably was my #1 bait last year with a 3/8oz black/blue jig coming up a close 2nd. A senko type bait was easily 3rd. Quote
jignfule Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Any and all things that have KVD on the package.....................(just kidding) Quote
