k561r Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Hello all, I've gone to this small lake in southeast jacksonville the past 2 days and got 8 bass yesterday and 6 today. The weather has been warming up and the bite is definitely on! Just got a new AbuGarcia pro max baitcasting reel on a 7' med action Falcon Bucoo micro rod. Literally I used one 5xd StrikeKing crankbait and just worked it along the banks in shallow water and pulled up a ton of bass. Mostly just 1-2 pounders but a few nice 3-4poundrs. It's been kind of a long winter and a slow season so it was nice to enjoy my day off work and break in the new rod on 15+ bass in 2 days. I love this time of year Because the bass just light up on topwater. Still waitin for that 10+ pounder though! Tight lines, Kyle Quote

Super User AK-Jax86 Posted April 2, 2013 Super User Posted April 2, 2013 Nice pics man I do my fishing over in the Durban Julington creek area. I have been killing them so far this season. I had a late start last season and have already caught more then beginning of this one than I did all of last season. Quote

Where are you located? If your down here in southern Duval or northern St Johns most these ponds are 3-7 years old so catching a 10# around here isn't likely. And you probably have the pig of the pond when you pull out that 5 or 6 pounder. Check out the ponds up north, mayo clinic, UNF/towncenter area, use google earth to date them. Check your InBox. Quote

Tight lines, Kyle Ok, I gotcha so you deffinately are located near some of the older more developed ponds. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding nice fish up there. Quote
