JellyMan Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 That is just a shame! And from what I am reading, I am interested to know exactly what happened but I dont think this forum is the place to do so. R.I.P Doug. You contributed and will continue to contribute to Bass fishing for a long time. Quote
The Rooster Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 With the passing of Jose and Doug, God must be planning a tremendous fishing trip. Don't forget Uncle Homer recently passed as well. Quote

Fish Chris Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Ahhhh geeez Doug Hannon was an amazing guy ! The guy really did know "how fish think". To this day, I often remember (and day dream) about a story that Doug use to tell, of arriving at a body of water, in Florida, in the 60's, that had "never" been fished before. He talked of throwing out a big top water plug, in the middle of an open clearing, and as soon as it hit, he could see huge wakes start cutting straight towards his lure, from 3 different sides of the clearing.... all three wakes being a huge bass, racing to get to his lure first ! How cool is that ? The guy lived an awesome life ! RIP Doug Hannon. Fish Quote

Super User South FLA Posted April 3, 2013 Super User Posted April 3, 2013 Sorry to hear about his passing, he was a great resource to the bass fishing community. I use to read his books as a kid and also daydreamed about his fishing exploits. Quote
Traveler2586 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Very sad news indeed... My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and coworkers. I recall watching his shows where he would wear what I thought was a strange looking hat; very similar to the Tilly that I wear now. IMHO, he was the first Big Bass Hunter. R.I.P. Doug. Thank you for your technical contributions to our sport, your knowledge, and your entertaining media. Quote
