AndyPlaysDrums Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Any body use these? I lost a brand new lure yesterday on the second cast, and was pretty frustrated. Thinking these could've saved it. Just looking for some thoughts. Thanks. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0017232316517a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntt=lure+saver&Ntk=Products&sort=all&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form1 Quote
Dr Pigg Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 I have them on all my DD cranks& they work great! You'll be surprised how much force it takes to release the lure from the embedded treble hook, but it will release and you'll save the lure. SO FAR! haven't lost any fish. Pretty neat idea, especially with the prices of good cranks Quote
zero limit Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Wow, got to get some of those, lost alot of rat'l traps, and others already this spring Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted May 3, 2010 Super User Posted May 3, 2010 Never used them yet, but they look intriguing. I carry around a hound dog type lure retriever and also the telescopic extender one from BPS. The extender will free any bait that's in 18' of water or less virtually 100% of the time, and the hound dog type has about a 60% success rate for baits that are out of the extender's reach. Quote
