thehooligan Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Technically i had my first bass in early feb, it was only about 1lb, got him on a dropshot rig. I got out wed and friday this week on one of my favorite private quarries that my friend lives on. Wed we had one bass and all pickerel, it was 20mph winds so we cut out early, couldnt stop blowing around. Yesterday we got on the water around 1 and fished till 5. I had 2 bass and i think 5 pickerel. I was using a jackall 1/8oz wacky hook with a 4.8 inch jackall flickshake worm in green pumpkin. Landed all my fish on that rig but one pickerel caught on a luckycraft pointer 78. I got a 3.3lb'er and a 2lb'er to kick the year off right. I think ill have to stick with that flickshake Quote
Ken Browning Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Very pretty fish. Been out three times this year and came back with goose eggs all three times. I have yet to learn how to fish in cold water, cold weather or stiff wind. I do like to fish wacky with a green pumpkin stick bait. Tight lines! Quote

Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted March 30, 2013 Super User Posted March 30, 2013 Nice fish! I went myself Wed, Thurs, and this morning and I struck out all 3 times. I lost 2 on Thurs but Ill blame that on the wind. Kept blowing tons of slack in my line and made it hard to get a good hookset. Probably my fault but I'm blaming the wind. Quote
