Super User A-Jay Posted March 30, 2013 Super User Posted March 30, 2013 I thought it was called the "Might Knot" Might Hold ~ Might Knot. A-Jay 4 Quote
21farms Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Uh! what's the difference? same as the alberto knot except 10 twists each direction instead of 8? Quote
Super User Darren. Posted March 30, 2013 Super User Posted March 30, 2013 same as the alberto knot except 10 twists each direction instead of 8? Not sure about that. I thought the Alberto/Albright (and mods) were variable in wraps up, and/or wraps down. So I could Mod Albright 15 up, 10 down....and it'd still be an Albright/Alberto variant. Heck if I know. 2 Quote
Super User Darren. Posted March 30, 2013 Super User Posted March 30, 2013 I thought it was called the "Might Knot" Might Hold ~ Might Knot. A-Jay It's an "Always Hold" for me!! But that doesn't have the same ring to it, does it... LOL 1 Quote

Hanover_Yakker Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 The modified Albright is the only one I use. Much easier to tie on dry land though . I usually pre-tie mine at the house or prior to launch. Quote
stevec328 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Vanish…it's what happens to your fish when you use that line. That's what happened to the smallmouth of a lifetime for me. Reached down to lip him and"ping". Vanish "%%$$#@@$^&*\". Truth. Quote
rubba bubba Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Man that's a lot of wraps. I do 5 up and 5 back with the Alberto and have never had it fail yet. Quote
gotarheelz14 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I have never had an alberto knot, WITH VANISH as a leader, fail on me. I really like Vanish. It's cheap, and it's pretty d**n abrasion resistant. The only problem I ever really had with it was that it had the memory of an elephant so I would never recommend using it as a main line. Other than that, I think it's the perfect source of leader material. And yes, I throw it in rocks, timber, grass, razor blades, knife edges, and running chain saws....no problems. . As far as the alberto knot itself, I have had tons of lures get stuck, and every time I pull and break them off, the line breaks at the lure knot, or somewhere where it has been nicked along the leader, than before the leader/main alberto knot.
