Whatever line you want to start out with. I am starting out with my usual braid and copolymer.  I am going to try some Tatsu fluorocarbon this year.

I usually start out the year by using up all the partial spools I have left from the year before.

Fluoro I'm running the same BP XPS fluoro from last year on a long term review.

I have spooled two rigs with 40# Power Pro Slick in Timber Brown this year to try. I got a good deal and wanted to try it. However I have a torn muscle in my calf so nothing yet.

I'm also testing out some Spider Wire white braid in 30# this year too.

I just got some Yo Zuri Hybrid, but I've heard great things about the XPS fluoro so it's next on my list. Do you treat it with any line conditioner?

Yep. I treat it heavily each outing with the KVD stuff. I had been using reel magic until I heard it breaks the line down. The line seems to dry up pretty fast so I coat it each time. So far memory is way down from Seguar red label I tried last year.

Sufix Siege in several sizes. I got some nice sized spools of it on sale at the BPS Classic sale for $5 a spool. havent fished it yet, but it already seems better than the trilene xl and big game ive been using. ive never seen a line come of the spool onto the reel that was so straight. there were no big loops or coils, and it never started twisting as i spooled it, never had to flip the spool over to get rid of that twist. it doesnt jump off the reel spool or wrap around the rod tip either...

Tufline supercast 12lb on one of my spinning setup, everything else will be rigged with 832 (add on 3-4 ft of leader if needed).

Ive already started "MY" year back in January, but typically will try to use the same line all season. I use braid mostly and will use fluoro this year on cranking rods and mono on topwater/jerk rod. Ill probably end up respooling the mono in a couple months. Not because it will necessarily need it, but i am anal about my line and knots and i do not mind changing out mono because generally it is inexpensive anyway....and its only one reel. The rods with fluoro ill keep an eye on but hopefully i wont have to reload. It does tend to last alot longer than mono. But i cut and retie often when i see knicks or good amount of abrasion in the line. The braided line will last all year.

Braid - Spiderwire UltraCast in 30# and 50. Spiderwire stealth 65 on a rig/ swimbait rod.

Fluoro -Sunline Sniper 12 and 16. I also have 14 and 20 that i keep around for leaders

Mono- Sunline Super Natural 10#. I have alot of Exel and Big game that i keep on the boat for leaders in different diameteres.

Seaguar Tatsu on just about everything. Sunline Shooter on one combo and Daiwa Samurai on my frogging outfit.

Typically I start a new year with the same line I finished with the year before.  I do plan on trying 20# Tuf-Line SuperCast on a Zillion PE.  I have several new-to-me casting reels to try this year.  Some will be getting new brand lines (new to me), but haven't made up my mind for sure on everything I will be trying.  For sure I want to try one of Sunline's offerings.  Also have some Siege to try.

Have a new-to-me spinning reel that I want to try 10# SuperCast on since it is a Medium rod.

How does the red label hold up against the zebra mussels?
