Brand0n Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 zoom brush hogs have been out for ages, but for me thats the best versatile creature bait ive used. ive caught fish in areas i dont catch fish with this and i only have green pumpkin on hand. tell me whats something new or old you guys wanna try for 2013? i havent quite gotten out yet this year since georgia still is cold and snow comes down then the next day its in the 60s. i dont fish unless the weather stays warm and the fish get active. im only a bank fisher but id like to see how many others are like me that wanna try "new" or old lures this year. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 27, 2013 Global Moderator Posted March 27, 2013 Ringworms for me. I used to catch a lot of fish on them and for some reason I just quit fishing them. Getting some of the Rage Recons and some Zoom Ringworms and get back into fishing them again. Quote
bassh8er Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I can't wait to try the Havoc Sic Fish and am going to rediscover the Ring Fry. I didn't throw it once last year and it's always been a very productive bait for me. And I have two plastic containers FULL of them. Quote
papajoe222 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Old would be a Lucky 13. I've had a couple in my tackle box for a few seasons and have still to tie one on. I'm not even sure how to work 'em. New, for me anyway, would be a FlatRap. I love the original floating Rapala and can't wait to try these out this spring. I expecially like the smaller profile vs. a Rogue and they seem to have a little more heft to them than some other baits that size. Quote
The Rooster Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Topwater spook. Had a few many years back and never used them so I got rid of them. Now I want to get a few again. That's my old lure. My new lure would be the Rapala scatter raps. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted March 27, 2013 Super User Posted March 27, 2013 I can't wait to try the new Rouge! Quote

Super User whitwolf Posted March 27, 2013 Super User Posted March 27, 2013 A black(blackberry) Mann's augertail worm. I used to fish them all the time and caught so many fish...... Quote
SudburyBasser Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Old I suppose would be jigs. For some reason I don't think that I actually threw any last year which is odd considering that I really enjoy using them. New...probably frogs. Only throw them once last year. So not really new but mostly. That and the million lures I bought between November and today. Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted March 28, 2013 Super User Posted March 28, 2013 I had participated in a thread about a week or two ago and I commented on Goose52's ability to catch really nice oinkers on lipless cranks. I also read a lot of posts from our well respected members recommending using craw colors especially red in the spring season. Well I was at Dick's Sports and picked up the only red lipless Cordell crank and a chrome - blue back - orange belly Rattle Trap (I believe Sam recommends this color pattern) and have had success so far with them. I gotta admit, it's been 10 years plus since I threw a lipless crank and I have to thank Goose52 for his posts and pics for the inspiration. Quote
JellyMan Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Going to be doing MUCH more flipping with jigs this year and flipping more creatures with weights. I also just bought a Z-Man Chatter bait after hearing all this "buzz" about them. Excited to throw that. Other than that... same ole same ole. I tend to do pretty well each year. Over all I am trying to do a bit more technique specific fishing from here on out. 1 Quote
