Chaz Hickcox Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Been working on my flippin' technique. I have been using a 1/2oz all-terrain jig with a rage craw. Going off of some advice I am planning on taking down the profile of the bait by using a Strike King Bisty Flip in the 1/2oz weight. I love the action of the rage craw, but would a smaller profile help with finicky fish, or would sticking with the rage be sufficient? Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted April 21, 2010 Super User Posted April 21, 2010 The baby Rage Craw http://www.ragetail.com/BabyRageCraw.html Quote
Chaz Hickcox Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 You know, I'm sorry, I said craw when I meant chunk. Either or though, does the baby craw have smaller pincers? Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted April 21, 2010 Super User Posted April 21, 2010 Yep, it's got smaller pinchers. When I'm throwing a finesse jig I just pinch off a little of the body to make it like a chunk. It should be exacly what you are looking for. Quote
Big-O Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 You know, I'm sorry, I said craw when I meant chunk. Either or though, does the baby craw have smaller pincers? Here's a size comparison of the Rage Lobster - Craw - Baby Craw Like Fluke said, it's a BABY and Mama Bass Love it Hope this helps, Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
DeanFishesNY Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I almost always use a 3/8 oz jig with gander mtn 3 in beavers as my trailer. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted April 21, 2010 Super User Posted April 21, 2010 I use GYCB Flappin' Hogs for clear/stained water and Rage Chunks or Paca Chunks in stained/muddy water Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 21, 2010 Super User Posted April 21, 2010 While I absolutely love Rage Tail Craws I will use Gene Larew Craws (3, 4, 5, & 6") for a slimmer profile in thick cover or a Zoom 3" Swimmin Chunk in less cover. Different trailers will vary the rate of fall which is key in getting that reaction strike. Quote
Super User Sam Posted April 21, 2010 Super User Posted April 21, 2010 Paca Craws Munchies from Louisiana Size matters, as Catt said, to help control the fall. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted April 21, 2010 Super User Posted April 21, 2010 2" Tiny Paca Chunks. I agree or Netbait has a 3 in.twintail grub that is small body and makes a great trailer! Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted April 21, 2010 Super User Posted April 21, 2010 I take a Bitsy Bug jig and take the skirt off and put a Netbait Tiny Paca chunk or a Tiny Paca Craw on the Bitsy Bug jig with no skirt! It's a killer! Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I use a hand poured 2" chunk. Once in awhile I'll use a zoom lil critter craw. Quote
aarogb Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Any of Zoom's trailers or Rage Tails or the Flappin' Hog. Quote
