BradGuenette Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Still not sure on what I want to run in terms of line on my setups this year. Any input is appreciated! Here we go.. 6'8 MH F Cumara/Stradic FJ-skipping/senkos/flukes 7'2" Cumara ML F/Stradic FJ-drop shot 7'2" Cumara M XF/Stradic Ci4-drop shot/shakey head Dobyns Champion 734/Lew's TP-spinnerbaits/Buzzbaits/swimjigs/vibrating jigs. Dobyns Champion 705cb glass/ Lew's TP-squarebills/topwater/jerkbaits Dobyns Extreme 743/Lew's TP-jigs/weightless t-rigs Dobyns Extreme 744/Carbon Lite-jigs/t-rigs Dobyns Extreme 745/Curado 200e7-jigs/t-rigs Dobyns Extreme 795 Flip/Curado 201e7-flipping/punching G-Loomis TWFR854C/Curado 200e7-frogs I want to go all fluro this season, for the main reason its better on slack line(braid stays on frogs/punching rigs) but it's hard to beat the no stretch of braid. I'm up north so I fish alot of wood/rock, but also have a fair bit of grass. any input what would you run in terms of line on these setups? Quote
CKFishin Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 You can't use fluoro on topwater.... Well you can but it would work like crap.. Quote
BradGuenette Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 The plan was to use a copoly like yozuri or a quality mono. Quote
CKFishin Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 The plan was to use a copoly like yozuri or a quality mono. Well copoly isn't FC its copoly... In terms of brands I used 100% trilene all last year w/o issue.. This year I have half Trilene 100% and half Seaguar Invisix because I keep hearing how good it is... I just finished spooling all my reels today and I can tell you that the invisix is more limp and seems like I am going to like it... 6'8 MH F Cumara/Stradic FJ-skipping/senkos/flukes 10lb 7'2" Cumara ML F/Stradic FJ-drop shot 8lb 7'2" Cumara M XF/Stradic Ci4-drop shot/shakey head 8lb Dobyns Champion 734/Lew's TP-spinnerbaits/Buzzbaits/swimjigs/vibrating jigs. 12lb -15lb Dobyns Champion 705cb glass/ Lew's TP-squarebills/topwater/jerkbaits 12lb Dobyns Extreme 743/Lew's TP-jigs/weightless t-rigs 15lb Dobyns Extreme 744/Carbon Lite-jigs/t-rigs 12lb Dobyns Extreme 745/Curado 200e7-jigs/t-rigs 15-20lb Dobyns Extreme 795 Flip/Curado 201e7-flipping/punching 17-25lb G-Loomis TWFR854C/Curado 200e7-frogs 65lb braid Quote

Super User kickerfish1 Posted March 25, 2013 Super User Posted March 25, 2013 Been conducting research this spring on quality floro lines. Main objective is attempt to find a line or two that stands out in the around $20.00 range and around the $30+++ range. I will be measuring sensitivity, stretch, handling, casting distance, knot strength, and line breaking strength. The amount of research out there isn't as complete as I would like so I decided this year I would put some popular lines through the ringer. It is still very cold and snowy so I haven't had much time on the water with all of lines yet so I will withhold further comments. Generally over the years both seagar and sunline products have impressed me the most. You have 10 setups ... assuming you fill about 40-50% of the spool with backing I would purchase. 1 spool of 8# floro 1 spool of 10-12# mono for your reaction bait rods 1 spool of your favorite braid 2 spools of 12# floro 1 spool of 15-20# floro Quote
