Fishing in a local small river due to the weather not allowing me to get the boat out, i had ran out of options lure-wise. I had tried everything from finesse worms to crankbaits and everything in between. i'm generally a lake fisherman so i'm not used to the whole river thing. Opened up the tackle box and decided to try something i had never tried before (which i thought was a dumb idea, but hey cant do any worse than i am) i rigged up a Tiny Paca Chunk, that i generally use for my jig trailers,on a c-rig. Didn't expect anything more than nothing, but as soon as it settled to the bottom BAM caught a 2lb LM first cast. and then it continued the rest of the day. Never hurts to try something you think won't work!

That sounds like an excellent idea. I'm gonna have to try them on a drop shot.

I do fish a double drop shot and it has been wild, and I can cover a bigger area of the water ! I like the VMC spin shot hooks for this.

That's called innovating!

For me it was rigging a lizard wacky style.

No reason you can't use a soft plastic for other than it's "intended" purchase. I'm all for it.

I keep a specific bag of torn up old plastics in my box for wacky rigging, never tried a lizard but looks like from now on they will be going into the bag also hahaha.

Fish 'em like that during spawn, pre, as well.

I've thrown them on beds, and in areas where fish were just running. Made the ladies angry.

Years ago, I would fish an Uncle Josh pork frog (the smaller size) on a 1/0 weedless EagleClaw hook with a split shot about eight inches up the line.  There were many times that I'd out fish my partner using live bait in the early spring and once the water would warm up, I'd switch to the larger pork on a bigger hook with no weight and pick up bass off the tops of the weeds during cold front conditions.  Now your secret and mine are both out :eyebrows:
