Topwaters and wind

Which type if topwater is best for windy days? Walk the dog, prop baits or poppers?

Buzzbaits and ragetail shads are my favorite for a windy day.  If you need a bit more weight on the shad, an insertable weight or a keel weighted hook helps.

I to would try a buzz first since windy days typically means active fish but if you don't like to throw them,  then out of the choices you gave I would throw a prop bait or walk the dog.  I like poppers on calm waters.  Just my opinion.

I like a big bait and walk the dog pretty fast with it.

Bull ribbit,buzzbait,larger spook type,large prop bait such as wounded spook,mag torpedo.Also don't overlook a large bladed spinnerbait waked across the surface especially over vegetation. These choices are when the waves are really kicking.

When there's wind and a chop on the water and I feel like a topwater is the answer, out comes the Devil's Horse.  Work it with sharp jerks...really make it kick up a fuss.  Works for me.

Rage tails, bigger buzzbaits, prop baits, and big dog walkers. Too much wind can kill a topwater bite though, and I can catch bass topwater easily in glass calm conditions if I use smaller poppers and buzzbaits.
