My friend Jon and I are getting ready to go back to the White River the first week of April and we'll be camping and bringing all our own food to try to keep it a little cheaper. We have lunches and dinners planned out but can't figure out what to do for breakfast. We're trying not to take anything for breakfast that needs to be cooked but I'm having no luck finding any ideas for breakfast that don't need to be cooked besides junk like donuts and muffins. So does anyone have any suggestions for a quick, no cook camp breakfast?

Peanut butter and jelly on whole wheat bread. A glass of milk, and a strong cup of black coffee and you're good to go.

I have spent 13 months getting myself in shape. I still have a little more to do, but I am far more aware of the choices I make. For most of us it is more about eating right and getting some exercise than simply eating less. That is not to say I don't still go a little crazy from time to time...

Try Clif bars. Made for hiking and climbing etc. packed with good stuff to give you energy.

Save your pennies and go to eat at Gaston's one night.  Get there right at sundown.  It is a beautiful place to eat.

Be careful with cliff bars as they take a quart of water to digest which in hot weather can really suck.

I am not a big breakfast guy but usually when I am camping it is oatmeal and some Gatorade and maybe a banana. I have to make myself eat while I am out fishing though because usually it is a small breakfast a couple GU packs throughout the day and then a big dinner. I do drink a ton of water and Gatorade though all day long.

I like the oatmeal idea, I can mix all that stuff together and toss it on the campstove while we're getting ready to head out. Also found a recipe for baked Oatmeal bars, going to try that with some fruit and nuts mixed to for some extra energy. We're having PB&J's for lunch so don't really want to have peanut butter for breakfast and lunch.

Whenever I'd go camping as a kid, my parents always just brought cereal with plastic bowls/spoons.  But then we were always camping in a camp ground and ice was readily available so keeping the milk cold wasn't an issue.  If your like wilderness camping, this probably won't work so well.

How long are you going for and will your camp be in one area or change locations?  I think setting up your campsite and gathering firewood is the first thing to do.  Even though you're cooking on a stove still have to have a fire for evening warmth and an animal deterent.  If you're sleeping outdoors be on high ground.

Quick and easy is a hot cereal and coffee, no milk, cream or butter, powdered creamer and milk is fine.  Take a garbage bag and take wrappers and used containers back home with you, unless your campsite area has garbage receptacles.  Don't forget t/p, leaves can get a bit scratchy and take a shovel.

Personally I'd rather be checking into the 4 seasons resort........lol, I'm done with camping.

Cottage cheese with canned fruit.  Sliced peaches, pears, etc., work well, unless you don't like cottage cheese.  You can also have yogurt with a granola or mueslix cereal topping.  Plain old cereal with milk and fruit is another option.  Have a cup of orange or grapefruit juice along with it, and you should be good to go.

Dude spaghetti ohs! Just take a can opener there ya go breakfast lunch and dinner it's how my 3 year old rolls lol.

If you like tuna you can also take the little tuna meal envelopes they are small and pack easy.

I also like to take what I call fruit leather idk what it's really called but it looks like leather but it's all natural fruit almost like a fruit jerky.

Maybe check into the campers meals from Mountain House and others. Many of them, you just heat up water and add to the package, and then they are good to go. I have had bacon and eggs meal and, although not as good as my wifes, I would be very happy with it after camping for a few days.

Warning, they are somewhat expensive. But they pack easy, cook easy, and you eat right out of the package, so very little cleanup.

I like freeze dried meals too for everything but breakfast though. As far as dinners and lunches they can't be beat even though they are pricy.

We're going to be at the Bull Shoals-White River State Park right below Bull Shoals dam. Not really worried about having a fire to keep animals away since it's a pretty developed campground. I thought about the MRE's but I've heard some of them are terrible tasting and I'd hate to spend the money and not be able to eat them. Cereal wouldn't be terrible except half an hour after I eat cereal I'm usually hungrier than I started.

Isn't that why they make muffins?  Take some along with you.

Ok, so you have power.  Chances are, you have a portable microwave handy.  Bring it, and some microwavable breakfasts from the freezer section in your grocery store.

Done.
