Wow, what a pain in the butt. I never expected it to be so difficult.

Hazmat training required? I expected to pay a hazmat fee but not be certified! LOL

Any of you guys ever shipped ammo?

I have shipped ammo all over the country, nothing more needed than the ORM-D label. If someone is giving you a hard time about it, get some one else on the phone. Both UPS and Fed-ex ship it for me no problems.

Good deal, thanks fellas.

I hate getting people on the phone that don't have a clue.

So, just so I'm clear...

This is a bulk pack of ammo. Wrap it, put it in another box, tape it up, put the ORM-D tag on it and take it to UPS. They will give me a price and then ship it?

There's no interrogation about what is in the box, etc?

What he said.  I've sold quite a bit of my stock awhile back.  UPS Ground with an ORM-D sticker.  Thats it.

Who told you you needed an Hazmat license?

Basically box it well and market ORM-D and you're good to go. I've shipped thousands of rounds and it's not difficult. It does have to go ground though.

Any rough idea how much 1000 9mm rounds would cost to ship from your experience?

Just a guess is fine.

I believe it should be lass than $25 if you go ground. Just try and shove it in as small a box as possible.

I ship ammunition and reloading components for a living. I do have "hazmat training." You guys are correct.

Loaded Ammo: shipped ground, ORM-D marked.

Primed Hulls or Cases: shipped ground, no markings needed

Powder or Primers: Must have proper Hazmat paperwork and markings (and the "hazmat training" they told you about)

It's all good, I actually ended up at a training about 10 minutes from the guy's house

I just took them with me and we exchanged in person. Better than shipping ;)
