CAdeltaLipRipper Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I'm getting a pair of Oakley straight jackets soon.Do any of you have any Oakleys? I know theyre top of the line glasses but i'd like to hear it from other fisherman's perspective besides KVD Quote
potbass Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Oakleys are amazing, and you won't regret them. I used to fish with Oakleys, but i've since switched to Costa Del Mar because i love the quality of their polarized lenses. But Oakley are an excellent choice, you can't go wrong with them 8-) Quote
bassnleo Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I currently have the straight jackets. I also had half jackets and fives, sold those. The lenses are good, no doubt. I found that they do not fit me all that well. The other issue I had, the arms are the straight style (not curved downward like most conventional glasses). When I wear a hat the back of the arms always hit my cap (most of my caps are the softer low profile style), That is really annoying. I found myself having to wear the arms over the hat. So, in a nutshell, the sunglasses are quality but I found they just were not for me. Quote
Fishing Doug Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I use the Flak Jacket XLJ's and just ordered another pair today. Big fan. Quote
RippinLips86 Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I have a pair of polarized gas cans they are awesome. The hd lenses are wicked clear and sharp. Quote
KevO Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I have the monster dogs they are great for fishing! Quote
aarogb Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I have got RX Flak Jackets they are very comfortable and let you see in the water great. The Rx is nice so I don't have to wear my contacts and run the risk of something happening and have to take them. If that happened it would suck because I am blind as a bat without my contacts or glasses. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted April 23, 2010 Super User Posted April 23, 2010 I don't know how anyone can stand to wear those uncomfortable things. Quote
Adam Harbuck Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Been wearing "those uncomfortable things" since 1986, lost count of all of the different styles or names, but I love them. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted April 23, 2010 Super User Posted April 23, 2010 Ive had half a dozen pair over the years. Right now I have a pair of Polarized Monster Dogs. They are great as sunglasses, my Costas are better fishing glasses though. Quote
grimboy Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I Have a pair of gas-cans polarized work great, thinking about a pair of straitjackets. Quote
Kelly J Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 i had a couple set of half jackets but switched over to rudy project glasses cause they seem to fit my face better but there is nothing wrong with aokleys they are really nice glasses Quote
7mm-08 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I've been wearing M-frames for years and love them. Quote
CAdeltaLipRipper Posted April 23, 2010 Author Posted April 23, 2010 Aren't their lenses like indestructible? Quote
bryand82487 Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I'm sure the Oakley's will work great. I've got 2 pair but neither are polarized. I fish with a pair of copper glass polarized 580 costa del mar glasses. I don't think you can beat the clarity of costas. The only downfall is that since the lenses are glass they can break easier. Quote
dmac14 Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I got a pair and they're great. They feel comfortable to me, I hardly notice they are on. Quote
Smiths.R Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I have a pair of half jackets, the fishing specific ones. They're amazing. Quote
bowtech_182 Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I have the polarized fives and am very happy with them. Quote
TBendBassin Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 i own a pair of costas and straight jackets........ OAKLEY STRAIGHT JACKETS ALL THE WAY Quote
RippinLips86 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 its hard to beat the HD lenses and there not indestructible but some models are ballistics rated Quote
shimanogloomis man Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I own a pair of the flak jacket with the shallow blue lense perfect for sight fishing and very comfy ;D Quote
RippinLips86 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I saw an add yesterday for WileyX doing fishing glasses now. If i recall correctly they are designed for combat. Next thing you know CCI will be making fishing glasses. Did I miss the memo where we are going to war with the LMB??? Quote
CAdeltaLipRipper Posted April 26, 2010 Author Posted April 26, 2010 its hard to beat the HD lenses and there not indestructible but some models are ballistics rated I know wiley x are awesome and used in combat but im pretty sure oakleys are too. Ive watched youtube videos where they do tests on them and they take a lot Quote
Chaz Hickcox Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Aren't their lenses like indestructible? Amazingly so. I've seen shrapnel deflect off the side of them. It scratched up the lenses real bad, but not a scratch on my buddy's face. He was wearing some ballistic M-Frames. Quote
