H00kedOnBass Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 So I had a previous post on how I got my new spro popping frog stolen by a monster! Came to the conclusion it was a snakehead. So today I went back with revenge on my mind! Here are the pics! Quote
Super User Darren. Posted March 19, 2013 Super User Posted March 19, 2013 Aww man, no pix posted?!! Quote
Super User Darren. Posted March 19, 2013 Super User Posted March 19, 2013 Nice hawgs, and snakehead! Quote
Diggy Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 lmao, awesome. No one likes losing a 10 dollar lure. Booyah makes them now cheeeper btw. Reminds me of the time my boy popped his hook off in a bass and we caught it again later that day and was able to remove the hook. I may have to try that spot, I usually look at those offramps with lust but then realize I dont want to get killed by some idiot...yours hopefully has better parking Quote
H00kedOnBass Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 The one I'm using is by booyah. Going for only 4.50 each at dicks sporting goods. And there's no worries fishing where I go at least, plenty of space to pull off onto the shoulder Quote
fl_bass Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 There is a bass that has my senko. Never got it back. Lol Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted March 21, 2013 Super User Posted March 21, 2013 Nice pics. I told you it was a Snakehead. LOL. Revenge is sweet in bassfishing. 1 Quote

The 3 snakeheads i caught when i went back were smaller than the one i lost tho, i could tell by the fight they put up. I also realized the snakeheads really prefer the spro frogs rather than the soft plastic ones. I use the Stanley ribbits because of the paddle feet action but just in one day using the spro I've caught more snakeheads in that spot than 3 months worth! Quote

fl_bass Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Hard to compare a stolen senko to a $8 lure lol Oh I know it's not the same pricewise. But it was my favorite color and the last one I had. So I needed to go back to the store to restock. I am still in my plastic stage and have not graduated to the big dollar lures. Lol Quote

WDinarte Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Hey guys, quick question here on the "frogs" lures. I pull some videos to lear how to use this boys and I noted a lot of fish lost on the fight, do we have some trick here to improve ?... Thanks guys for your help on my learning process. Quote

The trick is give them a second or two to get in their mouth then set the hook like your trying to break the rod. Also bending the hooks up and out is a must I wont use a frog until I do this. You have to keep in mind that most of the time you are hooking the fish in the roof of the mouth where its really tough. Quote

Yea, that split second of hesitation is important. The minute I lose site of the frog and see my line getting tight I set the hook hard, usually up instead of to the side. I noticed I almost always rip the frog of snakeheads mouth if i set it sideways, maybe because they have flatter mouths than bass? But everyone loses fish now and then regardless of what you do, its all about practice! 1 Quote
