texas rigged tubes

just wondering if most of you guys insert weights in the tubes or use jig heads...i usually texas rig mine because i use the same rod for worms and other soft baits...

I use a weighted rattle that goes around the shaft of the hook when T-rigging tubes. It stays in place and works great. 8-)

I use jigheads when I want to fish tubes with an exposed hook. I usually use an internal weight of 1/16 or 1/8 when Texas-rigging.

Flipping for green bass, a four or five inch black/red flake or green pumpkin tube, 4/0 Gammy G-Lock Hook with either a 1/8 or 1/4 pegged bullet wt.

Tubing for brown bass, from 1/16-1/4 jighead

I use both of these setups with a rattle inserted.

Anyone see Ike's tube T-rigging tip on Classic Patterns?  I'm going to give it a shot.  Slide a bell sinker into the tube and then thread the hook through the nose of the tube and through the bell sinker's eyelet.  One of the few things if not the only thing I've allowed myself to learn from Ike.

I tried this back in Dec.  I was probably doing something wrong, but it was a real pain trying to get the hook through the eyelet of the sinker.  I normally t-rig my tubes but next time out I am going to try the weight inserted into the tube.
