Hooked_On_Bass Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Great reel! I use the Calcutta reels more than the rest of my reels, you made a good choice. Thanks! I love the Calcutta/Conquest line, as well. Quote
JellyMan Posted March 31, 2013 Author Posted March 31, 2013 Just got back from my Wally with some clearance items. 2 jerk baits, 2 top water jerk baits, 2 poppers, and 3 crank baits. All the YUM products were nothing of interest to me. I would rather buy my producing baits and keep all the "excess" out of my life. Oh and not on sale, I got a KVD Sexy Frog, new Berkley multi tool, and a Berkley digital scale. Pretty good for $48 bucks! Usually when I shop it's at BPS and I cant get out of there with less than $75+ on the register total. I try tho. Quote
mtaag3 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Well, despite wanting to not jump in with both feet, I was at BPS looking around and succumbed to a great deal. I got a BPS Pro Qualifier BC reel and a Johnny Morris Carbonlite 7' med/fast casting rod. But I'm really excited because this balance and light weight is awesome. Plus, I got a smoking deal on it. 1 Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted March 31, 2013 Super User Posted March 31, 2013 A couple of weeks ago i got a spool of trilene 100% fc for 4 bucks spool of trilene for 3 bucks and about 45 packs of mustad ultra point power lock plus weighted hooks in 2/0 to 5/0 for 1 dollar a piece. At that price you have to buy them out. I got 6# today for $5. Been trying knots and getting 7.5# knot strenght -little disappointed cause my 6# nanofil does better. Quote

I don't have any BPS reels, but I do have their carbonlite rods the older cork versions and the new black handles, and for the money I love these rods. Never had any break and never had any issues with them. You will like the rod. Quote

Smooth as the day I bought it. I love the reel but I moved to Abu because I have tiny hands. I didnt know what I've been missing. Quote

I used to fish out there in the evening when I lived in Saddle Brook Estates off Ofallon rd. in spite of the crowd you can catch nice bass there with a Lot of determination. My son still goes over there sometimes in the evening after work. I now live on LOZ. Quote
