Link didn't work for me. Your friend must have some very special talent. Many people, including me, often have trouble telling the weight by looking at a real live fish, not to mention a picture.

a friend swears he can tell a fish's weight by a picture He claims his 2lb redear was bigger than this https://www.facebook.com/brandon.black.547/posts/491351884258866?comment_id=4644424&notif_t=share_comment 5lber. Does anyone have a picture of a small bass that looks huge. i need a reference to help him understand that you cant judge size with only a picture.

I don't think anybody is going to admit it if they do have a photo like that ;)

Its hard to judge by a picture. Ive had some 5 lb fish that in pictures look like 3, and 6lb fish in pics that look like 8. I caught a 6lb a couple weekends ago that in person looked like 7-8 and in a picture looked like 4 to me, even knowing how big it really was.

Unless the fish is on a scale, and the scale is legible, a picture only captures the moment, and is probably the WORST document for a big catch.  Sure, you can ballpark it, but anyone that tells you that they can tell exactly how much a fish weighs from a picture, knows nothing about photography.  Perspective can play serious games with how a fish is portrayed in a picture.

That's what needs to be said on the subject.
