It's on sale now for $59.97.  Just wondering if it's even worth buying.  Not interested in the PQ cuz I have the original Carbonlite and a special edition one that's similar to the Carbonlite but without the carbon handle.

I really don't need another reel but for the price...

If your in the market and enjoy the look and feel of thr reel I'd say go for it. Its not a POS by any means. I have had some bad luck with BP reels other than the carbonlite and PQ in the past, so I stick with those two.

BP's warranty is one of the best, so if it goes belly up, you can get your money back.

I have three of them and like them a lot. I've had no problems with them at all. I think they're really smooth reels for the price.

The line always has good overall reviews from a lot of users, I think it would be a good buy.  I bought one when it was on sale for 70 (cranking reel), I haven't been able to use it on water yet, but have played around with it...it feels like it runs pretty smooth and can cast pretty far in my backyard, but it doesn't reach as far as my other expensive reels, the PQ casts further too (own 2).

I got my 1st Extreme in a package deal on EBay when I bought 100 crankbaits. I loved it so much and went and bought 3 more!

I have the older version, guys really liked those. The newer version has that new cast control system, which prevents backlashes, but shortens casts as well. But I think you will be happy with it's dependability.

The two older models were fantastic and outlasted many of my other reels with minimal maintenance. I do know that the new one has the enigma cast control and magnetic braking, I think this is too much braking. But if you like it buy it. If you don't you can always take it back to bps and get the pro qualifier or carbonlight or jm

looks to be that same as the pro lite special except available in different ratios. I have the pro lite special and was not happy with how it casts. I found that I was able to clip off two of the centrifugal brake tabs by pulling the out with tweezers and snipping. now the reel casts very well, especially with light baits. It currently sits on my jerkbait rod.

The centrifugal brakes on this model were what kept me from being interested in one. No way to turn them off. I couldn't stomach the thought of damaging a brand new reel to make it cast better. Also, eventually the brakes will wear down and then what? I like the VBS braking on another brand of reels that has brake tabs that can be replaced after they wear down. However, for that little bit of money, you could just get one and use it until it did wear down after a while and then replace it, or let it be just a magnetic braking reel then, like the older models were.
