pjmags Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Im planning on fishing the lake by house this weekend but i just have a few questions before i head out. I'll be fishing from the shore at a spot that i have previously scouted out. It is a large levy covered in chunk rock/small boulders and the water temp is about 54 degrees right now. What technique would you start with in these condtions? Drop shot, jig, jerkbait? Thanks for the help! Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted March 13, 2013 Super User Posted March 13, 2013 Jerk bait, a spinner bait, jig Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted March 13, 2013 Super User Posted March 13, 2013 What is the color of the water and what time of day you plan on fishing? Quote
OkeechobeeAngler Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Consider a senko also. They work great in ponds. Quote
The Young Gun Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Never can go wrong with a suspending jerk bait. The limited edition rattling rouge with gammy hooks is my favorite .. Quote
pjmags Posted March 13, 2013 Author Posted March 13, 2013 What is the color of the water and what time of day you plan on fishing? I'd say its stained water. Later in the day sometime around 3pm-6pm Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted March 13, 2013 Super User Posted March 13, 2013 Spinnerbait/jerkbait - firetiger, chart and white, solid colors Jigs, worms - I'd go with black and blue, watermelon works for me, pumpkin is always a good choice. Dark and bright work IMHO...dark = browns blacks purples...bright = chartreuse, pink, orange Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted March 13, 2013 Super User Posted March 13, 2013 Any specific color/size/technique with the jig? Black and blue football jig Dragged slow or short hops Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 13, 2013 Super User Posted March 13, 2013 I'l be doing the shore thing this weekend, and I'll be bringing nothing but but short stick and a box of jerkbaits. OK, I might bring a jig or ten, too. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted March 13, 2013 Super User Posted March 13, 2013 No, I have to do some work to her first. Plus, it's gonna freeze again, and I hate putting her through the fogging process. Quote

I'd start off with the jerkbait and go from there if no responses. Fish slow. And don't leave home without a few Senkos. Quote
