ColdSVT Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I enjoy tube fishing and I seem to be one of only a few that employ the tactic for bass in my neck of the woods of PA I like two flavors watermelon and pumpkin seed I usually rig them texas style with a 1/4oz bullet and a 2/0 wide gap which apparently is crazy occording to many guys I fish with. once in a while I use a lead head tube rig but very rarely. what do you guys like to throw? Super User rockchalk06 Posted March 12, 2013 Super User Posted March 12, 2013 My favorite is a green pumpkin purple good flake coffee tube from Strike King. Next to a jig, it's my favorite bait to throw. I rig them with a BPS or the like 1/4 oz internal tube weight with a Skip Gap hook in 4/0. Quote

I guess I'm crazy too because I like to rig mine t-rigged but with a 3/0 Mustad wide gap tube hook. I really like Dry Creek double dipped tubes, especially their Alabam Craw color. It's green pumpkin with subtle orange highlights on the tentacles. Quote
Jaiden Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Green pumpkin and watermelon red. I use Strike King and BPS brand. I rig mine on 3/16 oz tube jig heads. 2/0 or 3/0 hooks I think. Quote
jhoffman Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Powerteam - Food chain - Green pumpkin light blue swirl. Rigging depends on what I want to accomplish. Quote
CPBassFishing Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 +1 on the powerteam lures food chain tube. Super soft and durable, and the hog tonic scent is great. http://www.***.com/Power_Team_Lures_Food_Chain_Tube/descpage-PTLFCT.html Quote
J.Bass Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I like the blk watermelon flake but the String King Rage Tubes are the best here. The bass love the coffee scent! Quote
Will Wetline Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Give me a good ole 3 1/2" Original Gitzit in smoke/red & black flake and I'll be happy. I've always rigged this with an Insider head but this year plan to try it on a dropshot rig. 1 Quote
papajoe222 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I'm in the same group as you, not many fish tubes in my neck of the woods. That's fine by me as I'm always looking to throw something different than the crowd. My favorite colors are green pumpkin/red flake which I often dip in Spike-It to add a little color to the skirt, or smoke. Depending on the cover or lake of it, I'll use either a jig head or use an insert weight and EWG hook. Most often it's a JHP or SkipGap in 3/0. I don't often Texas rig them unless I'm fishing a situation that I want a straight fall as I'll normally go to a creature bait in that situation. Tubes, big ones, are my favorite for skipping under docks weightless. There is enough weight to the bigger tubes for casting and if needed, I'll rig them on a 1/8oz. swimbait hook. Add a bit of CB's crawfish gell inside and out and I can follow a line of boats down a dock filled shore and still put fish in the boat. Quote

Brian Needham Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I have mostly SK coffee tubes.....GP, crazy craw and chaos are my favorite 3 colors...... I got some powerteam lures tubes in the blue craw color that I am waiting to try rig on a owner wide gap plus with 3/16 or 1/4 Quote
bassh8er Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Tubes are the one bait from Zoom that I am not a fan of. I'm a big fan of the Chompers baits; they are compact and plump. Green pumpkin or dark melon pepper ALL DAY.... Quote
jkarol24 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 SK 3.5" Coffee tube- Watermelon Gold/Copper Quote
