Super User Sam Posted March 12, 2013 Super User Posted March 12, 2013 March Madness is upon us and the real question is which NCAA college basketball team in the tournament can win six in a row? There are a number of potential teams that can do this and they will be favored. However, as we all know, there are many upsets and teams that should be in the Final Four can get upset by a team that gets hot for only one game. Here are my picks for the teams that have the best chance to win six in a row. Who do you like to do this in the tournament? Kansas Indiana Louisville Gonzaga Miami Duke has a history of folding. Georgetown, Michigan, Michigan State and Kansas State may have an outside shot at six in a row but I am not banking on it. And there is usually an unexpected team in the Final Four. Butler is one that was not expected to make it in the past. LSU has made it three times and they were not even close to being considered a Final Four team. And what about George Mason? That was a fun trip to watch. Let's have your list of who can win six in a row. And if you want to wait until Sunday to give it up please do so. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted March 12, 2013 Super User Posted March 12, 2013 This year is as wide open as any i can remember. I wil lwait to see matchups before i can say who i think will run with it but this might be the year a mid major pulls it off ala Villanova from way back in the day. 1 Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted March 12, 2013 Super User Posted March 12, 2013 Kansas (great coach with a ton of talent) Indiana (Zeller has to be the man for them to do it) Michigan (talent all over the floor, must play as a team) Oklahoma St (very dangerous when firing on all cylinders) Gonzaga (has some good wins, small conference may be only downfall) Duke (never count out a Duke team) Quote
preach4bass Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I'm a Duke fan, but rarely pick them to win it all. However, this year is an exception. Duke is undefeated with Ryan Kelly, and he, along with the two other super-star seniors, give Duke the edge on experience and leadership. They understand what they have to do to win it. They understand what it means, not only for them, but for the program. And, this is their last shot. So, I'm going with Duke, and hoping I'm right! Quote

It pains me to say my Jayhawks may not have what it takes. Johnson is not a true point guard. He is a #2 guard and excels at that position. We don't have a true point guard that can start and be used for minutes. Tharpe is a great PG, but is small and still a rookie. Give him 2 years and he may have what it takes. We also don't have a true leader on the court. Coach Self and coach Roberts can only do so much from the bench. We need someone willing to jump in the middle of guys ***** and tell them how it is. Tyshawn Taylor was that guy for 4 years. We are replying on Withey in the paint and Releford on the point. Releford is the best damned defensive player in the history of KU. He needs a strong back up for rest. We had that in Johnson for the last 3 years. Now with Johnson running the point, Releford has to go 38 minutes. Releford also had the highest field goal % in the Big XII last year. The man can shoot but with being stuck on the D hard, he wears quick. Kevin Young has broken out of his shell but can't stay out of foul trouble. McLemore isn't consistent enough to know how he will perform. Of all the things we have going for us is 4 seniors with championship experience. Quote

If Miami can then this 14 or 15 seed named FGCU can also, they/ WE beat them by double digits! Florida is also good enough as long as they stay healthy, and I dont believe in the Zags, they have feasted on bad teams. 1 Quote
shootermcbob Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Most of the teams already named are probably "favorites". However, this year more so than those in recent years has seen litte difference between the top teams and those in the 20 to 40 rankings. Early on, Illinois went to Gonzaga and HANDLED the zags, yet they were 8-10 in the big ten. Miami crushes Duke, but loses at Wake Forest. Ohio State beats Indiana, at Indiana, yet gets blown out at Wisconsin...I mean blown off the court. I think it really is wide open this year. A couple teams I think will surprise ....georgetown. big time scorer, and they play great defense and rebound. Another is VCU...they play great defense, and then they play some more great defense, and they back that up by pressing and playing defense. They also play as hard, or harder, than any other team in the country. Lastly, I like how my Buckeyes finished the season. If they continue to defend and help D. Thomas with the scoring load...they are playing well at the right time of year. 1 Quote
