Traveler2586 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 IMHO, unless you plan on removing the TM while the boat is in storage I would recommend a connection block where you connect whatever size battery feed wires to one side of the block with ring connectors, and whatever size trolling motor wires to the other side of the block with ring connectors. You want as few connections as possible. Probably cheaper and you won't have to drive there. Att wood makes one,Minn kota makes there own plug and there another I use but I can't think of it. The one I use the plug look more like an "L" then straight like the others. Quote

Yes. Put the dielectric grease (Di G) on the wires before you connect them to the plug and receptacle; then put it on the plug prongs. I have used it for years in my trailer connectors and battery terminals. It prevents oxidation on the connections; on the boat I'll even use it on the crimp style wire connectors. If you have a hard time connecting or disconnecting your trailer connector (regardless the type) it's time for some "Di G" Quote

Super User Wayne P. Posted March 12, 2013 Super User Posted March 12, 2013 If your plug/receptacle is the twist lock type, you have to turn it counter clockwise some to unplug it. When you plug it in, you do the reverse. Quote
