Mdiehl Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I just moved into heron bay from St. Louis area. Would love to get back into bass fishing. I would appreciate any advice on lures. Where can I hook into any peacock bass? Thank you for any suggestions. Matt Quote

DelfiBoyz_One_and_Only Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Boy are you in for a treat! I use to live behind target on sample road and the peacock bass were amazing. 4inch bright color grub and poppers would produce religiously. Welcome too BR! Quote
Mdiehl Posted March 9, 2013 Author Posted March 9, 2013 Thanks everyone. I need to update my lure selection and the search for peacock bass will commence. My 7 yr old son is super excited. Matt Quote
fstr385 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I live in Margate just East of Coral Springs. Snakeheads are fun to catch, but a pain in the ... Killed about a dozen of them this week. Don't find to many bodies of water this far North with peacock in em after the long "cold" winter a couple years ago that lasted longer n stayed cooler than usual. I get them in South Broward on spinners. 1 Quote
DelfiBoyz_One_and_Only Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 The canal just behind target on sample road has peacock. The canal is a part of a lake/pond that is deep enough for the peacock bass to survive the weather. Jay Quote

DelfiBoyz_One_and_Only Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 fstr if you go behind target there is a housing development the canal goes through there and ends at a bug lake. try a popper right at daylight or before dark. Middle of the day you have to use a chartreuse grub and should be able to sight fish for them. Jay 1 Quote
