Just bought some Rapala DT16, Strike King 5XD, Bomber fat free 12'-14', and Bandit 12'-14' crankbaits the other day. Colors vary from sexy shad, citrus shad to hot mustard. Curious to see what everyone else likes to use and favorite color. So far the I'm stuck between the Rapala DT and the Strike King XD series both in a sexy/citrus shad color. How about you guys?

Can't decide between the:

Strike King Pro Model 6XD Silent Crankbaits in Chartreuse Sexy Shad ~

And the

6th Sense Crush 300DD Crankbait in either Wild Blueback Herring or Live Baby Bluegill

My favorite is what I caught my PB on.  But I don't throw cranks too often.  One of the techniques I want to get better at this year.  BTW it is a Bomber BD8F citrus shad.

I like Spros and Strike King. Ghost Shad from Spro and Strike King's Tennessee Shad in particular.

For a deep diver I favor the LC CB 20 in a shad or citrus shad color. The main reason I like this bait is simply because it is the easiest I've found to crank deeply for the whole day. The 6th Sense cranks work for me as well.

Right now my favorite is the KJ Flat in chart/black back.  That will probably change to a Zoom WEC E1 in Classic or a XCalibur XCS 100 in Tennessee Shad in month or so.

To be honest I haven't purchased a knew crankbait for a long time. The last crank bait was a smaller size MegaBass a friend gave me. My go to crank baits are Bomber 7A's custom painted in ghost shad and baby bass for numbers of bass. I use original wooden Poe's 300 series custom painted in ghost shad and brown crawdad pattern. Norman DD 14 and DD22 custom painted black with red crawdad pattern and threadfin shad colors.

Don't use a lot of different crankbaits, but use the ones that work for me. I will buy about 6 each of the same exact crankbait, fish them to determine which lure catches bass, sell the ones that don't and then have the ones that work custom painted and change the hooks. Crankbaits are not created equal, each lure runs differently; don't waste your time with good looking lures that don't catch bass.

Kvd 1.5 bluegill can't beat it..I've literally went to it anytime I couldn't catch fish even in the winter and got them out of the water..

KVD 1.5 in ghost minnow has produced very well for me during the summer months. During the spring the 1.5 in bluegill kills it when you throw it up near spawning fish.

Sounds great guys... Seems like the KVD 1.5's are pretty popular... That is the 1.5 square bill right?
