Dylan.747 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Today I was at Academy and was eyeballing two rods. 7' Heavy Veritas and a 7'3" Medium Heavy Vendetta 2. I currently have a Vendetta 2 Medium and I love it. I just have an extra black max that needs a rod. So which one? I kinda need a longer rod for jigs and frogs and the longer is the two also cheaper. But I have always wanted a Veritas. Quote
Super User Teal Posted March 9, 2013 Super User Posted March 9, 2013 What weight of Jigs do you plan on using and how heavy is the cover that you will be using it in? Quote
Dylan.747 Posted March 9, 2013 Author Posted March 9, 2013 Most places that i fish don't have very thick cover. And maybe up to 1 oz jigs. Quote
Super User Teal Posted March 9, 2013 Super User Posted March 9, 2013 Man, you can really go either way. A MH will certainly do the job of both jig and frogs and will save you a few bucks. The H Veritass should have a little more sensitivity but it is rrated for 3/8 to 1.5 oz and gives the ability for heavier lures. But since you say theres not alot of heavy or thick cover, then why not go for the vendetta. Save a few bucks and have rod that is really versitile with almost ANY LURE. I use heavies for frogs and jigs but cover down here gets thick Quote
Dylan.747 Posted March 9, 2013 Author Posted March 9, 2013 Ok I think I am set on the vendetta! Quote
