Black Bass Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 I received some money and feel the bait monkey wispering in my ear. What Jerkbaits do you/would you like to have in your bass kit? Quote
Super User T-rig Posted March 17, 2007 Super User Posted March 17, 2007 Lucky Craft Slender Pointer, Megabasss Vision 110, Jackall Squirrel, Evergreen Sledge. Quote
fishinlunatic Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 I do like the Lucky Crafts as well, but I've had the most success with the X-rap.....hands down. Both sizes! Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted March 17, 2007 Super User Posted March 17, 2007 I fish Smithwick Rogues, Rapala Husky Jerks & X-Raps and Lucky Craft Pointers (78, 100 & 128). Catt's suggestion is a universal winner and the Rogues are relatively inexpensive. My favorite is the LC Pointer 100 (Baby Bass), but my biggest producer last year was a Rapala X-Rap (08) in white. This is my favorite lure category, so I have a few. 8-) Quote
Super User Catt Posted March 17, 2007 Super User Posted March 17, 2007 Why y'all reckon no one talks about Rebel's minnow they are still killer baits Quote
justfishin Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 No. 10 and 12 Husky Jerks in Tennessee Shad is my favorite. It has been my best producer. Quote
Bud Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 My favorite is the LC Pointer 100 in bone color Quote

Avalonjohn44 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Cultiva/Owner Rippin Minnow suspending is a great little hard jerkbait, and the baby bass pattern is absolutely beautiful, as good as any lucky craft or megabass finish. But my favorite is a soft plastic jerkbait, the 4.5 inch Sluggo, wieghtless in pearl, sometimes with the tail end (about a quarter inch) dipped in chartruese Spike-It. Quote
RiskKid. Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Original RB1200 Smithwick Rattlin' Rogue, Gold, Black Back, Orange Belly Agree....got two in my box on the way to the Fork (along with a couple X Raps and LC Pointers) Quote
Curado Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 I like the Strike King Wild Shiners and Rogues. Quote
larrybass Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 NEVER underestimate the power of a well worked SR9 Shad Rap in your favorite color. 8-) VERY verstile lure this, when twitched and jerked, anywhere in the water column, where the fish are. Fish it like a jerkbait not a crankbait and you WILL catch plenty of fish on this ol' standby killer lure! Catt mentioned a Rebel minnow and if it's the one I use, it's called the Spoonbill model and it is deadly. Also, there are NO rattles in this lure and it still really catches fish for me, even after doing so, for over three decades now! How you fish these lures is the big key to their success. Don't be afraid to experiment with different retrieves. They want different stuff on different days. The price isn't too outlandish on these puppys either! lb Quote
Guest avid Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 funny about the x-rap. I didn't have any luck with the original line. I bought two within days of them hitting the shelves and ended up giving one away and "retiring" the other to the garage tackle box. I bought the new smaller version, and have been doing well, but it's a dink magnet. So to answer your question Pointer in all sizes. I do best in the white shades and the aurora black rattlin rougue in everyones favorite color. yo-zuri Quote
lubina Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 My best 1) LC Slender 112 in Aurora Black. 2) X-Rap #8 in Hot Steel 3) Super Rogue Jr in clawn Quote
