Original RB1200 Smithwick Rattlin' Rogue, Gold, Black Back, Orange Belly   :)

I fish Smithwick Rogues, Rapala Husky Jerks & X-Raps and Lucky Craft Pointers (78, 100 & 128). Catt's suggestion is a universal winner and the Rogues are relatively inexpensive. My favorite is the LC Pointer 100 (Baby Bass), but my biggest producer last year was a Rapala X-Rap (08) in white.

This is my favorite lure category, so I have a few. 8-)

Cultiva/Owner Rippin Minnow suspending is a great little hard jerkbait, and the baby bass pattern is absolutely beautiful, as good as any lucky craft or megabass finish.

But my favorite is a soft plastic jerkbait, the 4.5 inch Sluggo, wieghtless in pearl, sometimes with the tail end (about a quarter inch) dipped in chartruese Spike-It.

:) NEVER underestimate the power of a well worked SR9 Shad Rap in your favorite color.  8-)  VERY verstile lure this, when twitched and jerked, anywhere in the water column, where the fish are. Fish it like a jerkbait not a crankbait and you WILL catch plenty of fish on this ol' standby killer lure! :)

Catt mentioned a Rebel minnow and if it's the one I use, it's called the Spoonbill model and it is deadly. Also, there are NO rattles in this lure and it still really catches fish for me, even after doing so, for over three decades now!

How you fish these lures is the big key to their success. Don't be afraid to experiment  with different retrieves. They want different stuff on different days. ;)

The price isn't too outlandish on these puppys either! :)

Ditto on the gold Rogue with the orange belly

funny about the x-rap.  I didn't have any luck with the original line.  I bought two within days of them hitting the shelves and ended up giving one away and "retiring" the other to the garage tackle box.

I bought the new smaller version, and have been doing well, but it's a dink magnet.

So to answer your question

Pointer in all sizes.  I do best in the white shades and the aurora black

rattlin rougue in everyones favorite color.
