jsc4324 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I want to pick up a revo s for a veritas I have without a reel which is just wrong. However I am contemplating putting a bionic plus on the rod because they are on sale look similar etc, and apply the extra money toward the kayak I am buying in the spring. What do you all think I should do? Anyone have any experience with the bionic? I know it's new but someone's must have used one by now. I'm leaning toward the revo but my cheapness might be getting the best of me just because of the sale. Please help. Quote
Arv Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 If I was you I would figure out which is more of a priority between the Revo and the kayak. The Revo line is a solid set of reels that should last a long time, so thats where I would put my money when considering your reel decision. Now it just comes down to how badly you want/need a kayak and when you would be able to afford it. Thats my 2 cents anyways Quote
jsc4324 Posted March 7, 2013 Author Posted March 7, 2013 Definitely want the kayak. Getting off shore is priority. Realistically I can do both but am being tight in the wallet. Probably going revo. Quote
The Rooster Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I haven't used the Bionic but I handled it at BPS recently and I really liked it. Of course, me being me, as soon as I got it I'd order bearings to fill in where all the bushings are and have it become a 9 bearing reel which would kill most of the savings you realized by going with it over the Revo. That's me though. But it does seem well made, and I'd probably prefer it's braking over the pitch centrifugal in the Revo. Quote
0119 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Fishing from the yak is hard on reels. Dont skimp on the reels you'll use on the yak. You get wet, they get wet. But its worth it. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted March 8, 2013 Super User Posted March 8, 2013 I'm a BPS BC reel fan (I have 17)...but I'd pick the Revo and just try to save somewhere else to get the kayak... Quote
