wannafishmore Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Looking for a fish finder to put up front by my trolling motor. Currently have and old Eagle that came with the boat that I'll keep in the back. I would like to keep it around a $200 budget. I'm trying to figure out what is more important to me, color, down imaging, or gps. I see Lowrance has models that have the DSI, but then don't have traditional sonar, is that a big negative? Looking for what opinions/advise you guys might have. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted March 6, 2013 Super User Posted March 6, 2013 Imaging is a function that takes movement to produce the picture-like images. That is the "Scan" part of the unit name.
If you like to just ride around looking at stuff, they are great. As far as a fishing tool, not so much.

It would make a good companion for your Eagle though. Quote
wannafishmore Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 So are you saying to not get too hung up on getting di or dsi? Quote
