Many "celebrities" are two different people, especially in the world of competition.

I don't follow the professional tournaments, but I was involved in stock car racing at the local level, and I personally know many drivers who are shy, retiring, polite and courteous until...............they start the engine in their race cars.  Then they become an entirely different person.  They become aggressive and ruthless, willing to do anything it takes to win, including the classic "wreck their mother to win the race".

I've seen it in other sports as well.  I see no reason why those involved in competitive fishing, with money on the line should be any different when it comes to being Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

My son and I met Ike right after he won the Classic.  VERY unassuming.  It was at a fishing expo in MD.  He was sitting at table by himself one evening with some books he was trying to sell.  We talked for a bit.  He signed a "baseball card" of himself for my son.  He looked through the bag of stuff we had purchased and talked about it.

My son is 19 now and doesn't really fish at all but,  he still remembers "that little bass fishing guy that talked to him and signed that card".

I really do like Hank Cherry though. Poor guy was almost in tears when he had to watch himself lose that giant on the last day. Way to rub it in B.A.S.S. Anyways, I hope to see alot more of Hank, Brandon Palaniuk, and John Carter in the future. Something about Cherry's dimeanor though, makes him one of my favorites.

I think what I like most about Hank and what really made me a fan of his; was after he caught a fish one time he said "This is for you (enter his Son's name here)"

I know that my Son is my life and I would do anything to make his life the best I can. I could tell that Hank feels the same about his Son because he was trying to win to help provide his Son the best life he can.

I realize it's not all about money, but we all know that being financially stable sure makes everyday life easier.
