shootermcbob Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Mike at Delaware Valley Tackle just cleaned and repaired 3 MORE citicas for me. As always, his work is superior. The reels come back smooth as silk, and 100% cleaned. Well worth the cost of the repairs and cleaning. Thanks Mike. 1 Quote

Super User kickerfish1 Posted March 5, 2013 Super User Posted March 5, 2013 Awaiting the return of 9 reels. Mike has been great to work with through the process. Can't wait to see the end result! Quote
scrutch Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Don't just get them cleaned, let Mike supertune them too. It's well worth the few bucks. I've had several done by him and other reel guys. Nobody is better than Mike at DVT. Quote

Nubbins1911 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 What is the turnaround time on a cleaning? Quote
shootermcbob Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 What is the turnaround time on a cleaning? Might I suggest sending Mike a PM here and asking him. I usually send him my reels in Jan or Feb and tell him no hurry, so I can't really give an accurate answer. However, I can attest to the quality of his work...outstanding. Quote

thehooligan Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I'll probally use mike this year to supertune my three shimanos... Quote
shootermcbob Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 Hooligan, I have not had MIke supertune any reels, but the difference it makes having him just clean and lube really improves the casting performance of my citicas. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted March 8, 2013 Super User Posted March 8, 2013 What is the turnaround time on a cleaning? He's at 5-6 weeks right now. Quote
Nubbins1911 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 He's at 5-6 weeks right now. Thanks I talked to Mike yesterday and he told me the same thing. He was very helpful and helped me decide on what to have done. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted March 9, 2013 Super User Posted March 9, 2013 Got my reels back from Mike the other day. Early impressions are quite favorable, though I haven't fished them yet. He has a very good handle on all aspects of the business and I am planning on sending more reels in the future. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted March 10, 2013 Super User Posted March 10, 2013 what was your turnaround time? I am not 100% what is accounted for in turnaround time. Assuming the shipping there and back does not count? I dropped them off at USPS on January 12th and received them back on March 8th. I would say remove about 10 days for transit time (getting the order there and back) and it would be around 5-6 weeks give or take. We had to wait a few days for a part to arrive as well. Keep in mind this is peak season still for professional reel mechanics/tuners. I also had a fairly sizeable order. As to whether the turnaround time is more or less right now I would call or email Mike for a more current projection. Quote
