bweave09 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 My buddy is well on his way....about 800 bucks in his first month or so of fishing. Me? I'm too broke. This summer, the addiction will be back in full force. I've been suffering withdrawals for the last 9 months...d**n you college! Quote
Thad Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I stopped by my house after class today to change clothes and go to work. My neighbor yelled at me as I was leaving and told me there was a yard sale down the road that had fishing stuff. I was already late but I had to stop and see if they had anything good. I was 30 minutes late for work. Did get an old Big O, 3 old Shad Raps, an old Poes, 4 bags of Senkos, 20+ bags of Zoom stuff, and 2 Stanley Wedges all for $20. Addicted? Yes Quote
southtexasbassin Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Went in to Bass Pro to buy some platics and a new reel like I always do after a day of fishing. I came home with a Nitro bass boat. You should have seen my wifes face when I backed the boat in the garage 3 days later. "You must be nutts." YES I AM!!! Quote

Beastie Bass Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 My soft plastic bag is a large open mouth construction tool bag that weighs in at an astonishing 48 lbs! My other 2 hard plastic boxes total 54 lbs. That's bass only! I AM NOT ADDICTED 102 LBS OF TACKLE AND STILL BUYING MORE ALMOST EVERYDAY! ;D Quote
BassThumb Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 My issue is buying large quantities of similar lures when I find them on sale. Sometimes they don't get used for a few years, sometimes they never get used. For example. $2 Red Eye Shads x 70 from a local Gander Mountain. They were in brown/white and black/gold, and in both sizes. These are two of my favorite bait colors, so I figure I'll use them eventually. They call em bargain bins, but it's still easy to get carried away. Quote

A local tackle shop was goin out of business and the owner had Lucky Craft Sammies for under $10 so I bought 4 and when I got home I realized I had 3 of the same colors. Expensive mistake. Quote
Pikesnogle Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Anyone else seem to have this problem? Every time I go in a store with fishing equipment I seem to always leave with something. I always have to look through the selection and then I end up buying more than I need. Too many unopened packages!!!Am I the only one? Surely not... : Not a chance that you're the only one. I can't tell you how many times I walk into the local fishing store to buy one thing and end up spending $75+. New line, new rubber worms, crank-baits (rapala x-raps), spinners (mepps agila/panther martin), basically anything I can convince myself that I "need." Quote
rboat Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 This is truly an addiction, but much better for you than most. I can't leave the store without some lures. You know its bad when you get home and find the same lure you bought is already in the box and you forgot you had it. I sometimes talk myself into something because it is slightly different size, color, or action. I need help. The bait companies and their monkey have us by the privates and there is no way out. Quote
Nitro 882 Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I only buy lures that i know works for me. Jigs, Senkos, and Spinnerbait. I'm gonna quit buying when I find the lure that works for me. Quote
Blue Streak Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 My friend always said he was a lure collector. He said he liked to fish , but collecting was more fun. He collected every bait you could imagine and in quanties. Quote
