Preytorien Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Yes! I did..... Got a new Shimano Curado (7.1:1) + Shimano Crucial combo (6'8" MH-Xfast) We'll be on top of ice for quite a while more here in Indiana, so I'm itching to get out there and rock and roll with this baby! Quote
Preytorien Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I picked up a revo sx 30 and a BPS carbonlite rod to go with it during the classic sale. My wife got me a revo sx baitcaster for our anniversary at the end of October (if that counts as winter), which I paired with another carbonlite rod. Those Carbonlite rods are amazing rods. I have one that i use with the Carbonlite baitcaster. Man is that rod sensitive! Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted December 18, 2013 Super User Posted December 18, 2013 Well, winter has arrived again so plenty of time to add a few more combos. So far I picked up a used Fuego 6'10"MXF spinning rod to go with a Supreme XT that needed a companion. Got my first rod designated for crankbaits...a 7' ML Crankin Stick, and will be putting a Carbonlite on it that had been sitting alone. Also have a replacement coming for the Falcon Expert 7' M that I fell and broke a few years ago. Have a spare Patriarch XT that may go on this rod. Looking forward to a couple more items if finances allow: Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth 6'10" MH Med-Fast, Kovert 6'9" MH Spinnerbait and a Tatula reel...possibly the Type R. EDIT: Have been reading great things about the Tatula rods as well. Who knows, may add one of those to my arsenal. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Ive got a new Dobyns 805CB w/Diawa Tatula, a Powell Squarebill rod w/Pflueger Patriarch, Powell 705CEF w/Diawa Zillion Type R, and a Powell TW Jerkbait rod. Quote
Superdumper Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Recently got a Powell Endurance 714 c paired up with a Quantum Smoke 151. Super light weight, gonna be in the fifties this weekend so hoping to give it a good test run. Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted December 19, 2013 Super User Posted December 19, 2013 Been doing some air travel to my fishing destination recently. Accordingly, I've started the St Croix Tidemaster Inshore Travel Rod Collection. The M, M/H & H casting rods and most recently the M spinning model. Very nice. A-Jay Quote
thehooligan Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I picked up a 6'10 medium light cumulus for dropshots & flickshake. An Aldebaran mg for crankin, and a bfs xg for topwater & jerkbaits. In the market for a good crankin rod. Quote

Super User *Hootie Posted December 20, 2013 Super User Posted December 20, 2013 Not everything is new, but these are the new set ups I have put together Lews TP/Dobyns DX744c Lews TSS/Dobyns 735c Lews TP/Dobyns 705CB Daiwa Tierra 2500/Dobyns DX742SF When I bought my first Lews, about 3 years ago, I mounted all of them on Dobyns rods. Super User iabass8 Posted December 20, 2013 Super User Posted December 20, 2013 My Tatula 100HL was waiting for me when I got home today. This reel is incredibly smooth right out of the box. When I pulled the reel out I was really surprised with its size. It is not a big reel at all. fits perfect in my hands which is the one thing I was worried after only being able to handle a RH one. Once I got it dialed in, this thing can really cast and it can cast with ease. I didn't get too long playing with it outside. 15 degree weather and a light freezing mist doesn't agree /w mono or my cold hands. This is going to be a long 4-5 months Quote
Jaheff Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I purchased a Okuma Komodo a couple months ago, and a Phenix M1 over Thanksgiving sales. Really impressed with the reel after a complete teardown. My judgement on the rod is still out. The trigger is closer to the reel then what i'm use to. Quote
Silas Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 No your not!!! Hard to believe, but I've gone for several months without buying a single piece of fishing gear! Gasp! But......I HAVE spent about $3000 on motorcycle gear for my new BMW F650GS. I tend to favor one hobby at a time......at this moment it's riding my motorcycle. Fishing has to wait until conditions get right......all these fronts coming has upset fishing down here! Quote
