I didnt buy anything but I think I may be getting another setup soon. Revo S with a Mojo Bass 6'6 MH as my new worm/jig/flipping rod, and a Revo spinning reel with a Veritas 6'6 M rod for finesse fishing in ponds and from shore, retire my Johnny Morris Elite with 6'0 Team All Star rod as my top water go to, and retire my Rick Clunn reel with Shimano Carbomax for crankbaits and spinner baits.

I'll be all set!

Not as fancy as some of your rigs but:

Replaced a Pflueger President reel on my worm and jig set up (Compre) with a Stradic CI4 2500

Shimano Caius on a Shimano Sellus topwater rod

BPS Extreme on a Compre crankbait rod

The only thing I planned for the winter was some reel tuning. Couple more TD-Z handles, some carbontex drags, a few abec7 bearings, etc. Got most of the stuff I need for that project.

Told myself I didn't need any more rods and reels.

Bought a Steez spinning rod, 7' ML-XF, and a St Croix Legend Extreme casting rod, 6'10" M-XF.

I have a reel for LE, need another spinning reel for the Steez.

So much for good intentions.

Went a little hog wild on gear myself, both new, and through the Flea Market here, used:

New St Croix LTB 6'6 MHF paired with a new Chronarch 200E6

Used St Croix Avid 7' MF paired with a used Curado 200G6

New St Croix Avid 6'9" MLXF spinning with a new Shimano Sahara

New BPS Carbonlite 6'8"  MXF spinning with a new BPS PQ

Looking at it now, I guess I went a bit overboard on St. Croix and Shimano.  That wasn't my intention.  I just seemed to find deals on each rod and reel in the categories I was looking to fill and made the jump.

Bait monkey savaged me as well.

Can't wait for ice out.....

New combos are,

6'8 medium cumara with stradic ci4 1000

6'5 medium cumulus with sustain 1000 fg

6'5 medium cumulus with core 51

6'3 medium cumara with chronarch 51e

6'6 medium berkley lightning custom with citica 201e

The only combo i still have thats untouched is my 6'3 medium fenwick smallmouth rod and stradic 1000 fj

I also have to find another rod for an extra curado 51e i picked up, leaning towards another fenwick smallmouth rod or phenix recon 2.

My curado 50e with my phenix PHX-C682L is by far my favorite set up. The light rod is so fun, even got my pb on it. Highly recommend the recon, especially the PHX-C682L since it is so light and fun.

Is that why you were still awake way past your bedtime?  Or was it too much  :coffee1:  ?  :teeth3:

Nice rods.  Nice reel.  You are one of the guilty ones who talked me into getting a Lews Tournament Pro last year.  Got a super deal on a RH like new, so went for it although I would have preferred a LH.  Glad I learned to enjoy both hand reels so I don't have to miss out on any deals now.  :smile2:

Oh, baby, and I thought I spent too much over the winter!  I am still waiting for my first Dobyns.  Money and good deal have yet to coincide.  Glad there are a couple others on this site who like Daiwa reels.  I was feeling a bit like the odd man out.

I don't have a Recon, but want to try one.  My Curado 51E is on a Fenwick Smallmouth 6'10" MF.  It got used every time I was out last year (after they arrived).  Definitely a favorite.
