Busy Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I got it in the mail on Friday & I've read about half of it. I'm going to start the exercises tomorrow. Quote
RyneB Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 i started P90X two years ago. I was 198 lbs, i got down to 167 by the end of the 90 days. I was in great shape and looked good. Then i met my wife, got married, and put most of the weight back on. I started back up today and i thought i was going to die. I remember the first 2 weeks were the hardest. My modo is "theres nothing to it but to do it" Quote
Goose21 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 My step dad cycles the p90x and insanity- but doesn't follow the diet plan so much. Yet he's been consistent with both programs for three or so years now, and he is in great physical shape at 51. Personally I've always hated running but I'm giving in because cardio really is king. Right now I'm working my way up to running a mile three days a week-especially with warmer weather on the way. I also lift for about 30 min five days a week, nothing to heavy anymore but enough to stay toned. Working with sick or just elderly, debilitated people all day has motivated me to make diet and exercise an integral part of everyday life. Stick with it guys! Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted March 11, 2013 Author Super User Posted March 11, 2013 Started week 2 and I can say that while I haven't lost but a few pounds my core is definitely being worked. My abs and other various muscles are sore but in a good way. I did go off the nutrition wagon for two meals, one a big burger and fries on Friday and some Mexican yesterday, back to it today though. 1 Quote
Goose21 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 If you only got off the wagon for two meals then I would call that a successful week. This is my first week following my diet hardcore but I am allowing myself to eat out one meal a week. Friday's at the great local steakhouse. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted April 15, 2013 Author Super User Posted April 15, 2013 Just started phase 2 of the plan this evening. I wasn't able to work out the past two weeks...one week I was sick as a dog and last week I was fishing out of town I have pretty much stayed on the meal plan though and have lost roughly 5-7 pounds but I a, definitely stronger. This phase focuses on strength training and some of the stuff they have you doing with medicine balls and the like is pretty crazy. Quote
