Super User J Francho Posted March 7, 2013 Super User Posted March 7, 2013 jack of all trades, master of none. I say this a lot. It really is what fishing is all about, if you've been doing it a while. Quote
Shoop05 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 In a perfect situation, I think we would all love to be able to pound the bank plucking 5 pounders out of heavy visible cover. I have learned to adapt fishing all across the country, and I have to say even though it takes a while to get the hang of, catching bass in deep water with cover on structure is a killer. Brush piles or logs on a hump in 15 feet of water. You can catch some real heffers this way. Conditions play into different styles so I try to be versitle. I really do like pig sticking in deeper water though, especially for bronze beauties! Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 DEFINATELY heavy cover here! It is my passion to haul big fat bass out of the nastiest slop around. Not to say i am not versatile or "good" at any other styles, but none interest me as much. Quote
BassKing17 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 All about the shallow water grass and deep water structure!! Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted March 7, 2013 Super User Posted March 7, 2013 Definately a junk fisherman, I like a good assortment of rods ready for the day. Plus, I'm usually the back of the boat so I tend to switch baits and presentations often until dialed in. Quote
tnriverluver Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I beat the banks year round mainly fishing wood structure or laydowns. Occasionaly fish deep but almost always catch my limit fishing shallow regardless of the water temp. Almost all my fishing these days is tossing a worm or lizard due to a bad arm. Rarely fish crankbaits or spinnerbaits anymore. Quote
Trackick9707 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Grass and lily pads are my strongest points. After that I would say crankbaits in wood cover. So i would say my style is a cross between power fishing and junk fishing. 1 Quote
merc1997 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 i fish whatever style it takes to catch them. i like to fish certain ways better than others, but you have to able to fish big, small, shallow or deep to consistently catch bass. bo Quote
strikequeentiff Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Hey guys just seeing what kind of style everyone is more or less what kind of fishing describes you. Ex. Offshore structure fisherman, Heavy cover fisherman, Pitching flipping docks, I wanna see everyone's style so post away Thanks -Mike Structure for the most part. I like to take the canoe and fish the docks... laying logs, pads, old structures. I fish this way the most I'd say. However, I actually like all types of fishing. I will be pitching and flipping docks more this year. My husband had me pitching and flipping in my kitchen last night, lol. P&F... my goal this year. Quote
Jaiden Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Right now I fish mostly visible cover/structures, but I am working on fishing deeper, offshore structure this year. Quote
jkroosz Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I prefer the reaction style of pre spawn, but will : t rig, jig, drop shot, crank, jerk, wacky, frog, spook, pop, I love the challenge of finding them on various bodies of water, conditions and time of year. The type of fisherman is lucky. Lucky to be fortunate to be out there boating, eating donuts, telling jokes and occasionally catching one. 1 Quote
