I heard they're looking at signing greg luzinski to add some pop to the lineup.

If they can get him out of his BBQ pit in left field he would be a welcome addition to the lineup.....Amaro might be the absolute worst GM in baseball history

Yeah and made 2 mil less than what the O's were going to give him. Rays got a steal. They are looking good too. Probably the BoSox closest comp if the finally can score runs this yr.

BoSox 2014! Their division to lose buddy. Time to put a string of rings together

IDK, Yanks got some thump in the line-up now, and they say CC is in the best shape of his career. I agree the Yanks infield is suspect, but I believe Tex will have a comeback year, who knows what Jeter is going to give you. The starting rotation isn't all that bad, so you have to play to get into their bullpen. A lot of 10-8 games in NY, just depends on who is on the 10 run side...LOL

As far as the O's GM signing and backing out of a deal? Just remember, he was the same guy who thought Roger Clemens was washed up in Boston, you can have him...LOL

I actually think the O's will be very competitive as will the Rays, I really can't say much for the Jays, but they could sneak up on you. Should be a fun season to say the least.

Duquette set up the first 2 series teams for the sox, a lot of those guys were his. He let clemens walk after a couple of declining seasons, he had no idea roger was about to become a pin cushion.

Best shape can change a lot of things there has been people who lose or gain and it changes how they play. I am not a cc fan, I think he is over hyped. He isn't David price talent. And yep it will be ugly games slug fests. Lol

You when you get a former redsox gm and a former Yankee skipper I don't think anything good is gonna result especially when you add in the worst owner in baseball

Clemens became a pin cushion because of Duquette and supposedly that started in NY, but we'll never know.

There were some key guys left over, I will agree with you, I wouldn't say he "set up" the '04 and '07 teams, but there were some key guys, yes.

CC has certainly declined as most power pitchers do at his age. Granted, he's not the beast he was in Cleveland, but I think with the weight loss, he will be a much better pitcher than he showed last year, if not the last couple of years. Yeah, not a huge fan either.

I actually like Buck Showalter as a skipper. I think he's one of the best skipper in the game. Certainly gets the most out of his players, that's for sure. Kind of Joe Maddenesque.

Manny Ramirez, Pedro Martinez, Derek Lowe, Jason Varitek, Johnny Damon, Tim Wakefield, Kevin Youkilis, Jon Lester, Nomar, Hanley Ramirez, Anibal Sanchez.Doug Mirabelli. I wanna say Hanley and Sanchez were traded for Beckett. Pretty key guys, in my opinion pretty much set up at least the 04 champs.

Duquette is unsung because he's unlikeable, by fans and other GMs, but he's good at his job. The Os owner on the other hand...

I really like buck, very good baseball mind and does a great job. Haven't really been too impressed with duqette, the wada signing and some pitching picks havent panned out. he likes his recycled cubs players too. but I think he would do a better job if the real problem Angelos would keel over and die.

I agree Derrick in '04 they had a lot of left overs, the team was also just purchased not long before that, so there should have been leftovers. I'm sorry, not a big Duquette fan.

Then we agree, he gets credit, not a lot of it.

I wasn't a big fan of Nomar after the '02 season I think it was, so it really didn't break my heart to see him go.

me neither. out of all the guys boston teams have traded or let walk, theres no one i ever missed. Brady would change that, if he goes.

I think the only one that stands out for me, and I know why the did it, was Bobby Orr, but then again, I was my son's age (9) when they did that. Man, was I heart broken. Considering as a kid, I got to see him in person and I was a huge hockey nut at the time.
