Super User Gone_Phishin Posted May 7, 2013 Author Super User Posted May 7, 2013 Yea, we usually don't have this many guys, but our commissioner was tanked when he set up our league. Quote
Super User MCS Posted May 7, 2013 Super User Posted May 7, 2013 Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately he is taken. Our league has twelve teams, with 27 players per team, so the pickings are slim. Are you in my league??? LOL I am in a similar league, I snagged slowey before his last start and mcalister a while back, got Lackey too before he came off the dl. Has anyone pick up Locke on Pitt, My league has marquis, check out hefner on the mets, good whip and k/ip even though the era is his, think he has 3 qs. That is who I might target next. leake is there, kinda rough but hey. And that Axelrod on Chi has been too bad. happ, sanibia on miami if your desperate. Quote
Super User MCS Posted May 7, 2013 Super User Posted May 7, 2013 When should I give up on Jarrod Parker? Gets Ks but man ugly stats everywhere else. I traded jj hardy and weaver for chisenhall and him......that trade sucked. trying not to be a total loss. I already kicked chisenhall to the curb. I flipped Bailey right as they billed him closer to stay, and some reliver on the indians for Machado and mike adams. that cleared my 3b problem up. but I don't know what to do with parker. I figure to drop him when ceuto comes of the dl, but is it worth it til then?> Quote

I've had my eye on Axelrod, but am not too sure of his future when Danks comes back. Ventura may stick with Santiago.  Locke is gone, and I added Hefner to my watch list. Thanks. Arroyo is available. Super User MCS Posted May 8, 2013 Super User Posted May 8, 2013 Is Tillman available? Â tillman is gone....I pulled the trigger on hefner once I saw parker had a stiff neck boo hoo and that is why he sucks I figure no way dl or whatever he is a mess....we have holds in this league so I dropped De La Rosa for Rex whatshisname outta the Colorado pen. Kinda regretting that at this moment Quote

Super User MCS Posted May 8, 2013 Super User Posted May 8, 2013 Yeah I didn't have to worry they both have been long gone. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted May 8, 2013 Super User Posted May 8, 2013 Can anyone explain how the Phillies get shellacked at home by the marlins and then go into the reigning Worlde Series Champs and win 2 in a row? I think this is what makes me so mad, the team can win and has talent but just doesn't in situations it should. Way more frustrating then a team you know is bad and should lose and wins are a bonus... 1 Quote
Super User MCS Posted May 8, 2013 Super User Posted May 8, 2013 Maybe Halliday needs some sun protection....ribbit lol http://sports.yahoo.com/news/it-s-always-sunny--sources-say-sunscreen-trick-is-pitchers--latest-way-to-gain-an-edge-173953962.html I am not complaining either, got darvish on one team and bucholz on another and both are in first lol. Just kinda silly there is such a big deal about it from these old player commentators like Morris has any room to talk, he touched his hat and stache a lot if I recall right. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted May 10, 2013 Author Super User Posted May 10, 2013 I picked up Kazmir an hour ago. He's been looking pretty good. Quote
Super User MCS Posted May 10, 2013 Super User Posted May 10, 2013 Yeah he has been pretty good this year. It amazes me how a change of teams can turn a player around, new coachs, new persepctives I guess. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted May 19, 2013 Author Super User Posted May 19, 2013 Looks like Baltimore is bringing Jurrjens back up. Quote
Super User MCS Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 Looks like Baltimore is bringing Jurrjens back up. Â Looks like they shoulda left him where they found him.....5 starter spot sucks for the O's If they can just make the playoffs then they won't need it, but Hammels looked shakey then Johnson emploded on us this weekend. Â But I gotta say my traded for Machado has paid dividends!!! Bailey went down a week after sent him. 1 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 Who would have thought that two of the worst power hitters on the anemic phillies lineup would take chapman, the fireballing never blow a save chapman, deep not once but twice and back to back.....this is what makes me glad i shave my head because i would be pulling my hair out.  On a side note, i really like this Galvis kid and i have been saying sicne the first time i saw him play a few years ago in minor league ball that the Phillies should have him as their everyday third or 2nd baseman (would say SS too but J-roll is signed for two more years) as he is stellar in the field and has a rocket for an arm. 2 Quote
Super User MCS Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 How about them Cardinals  Sure wish I picked Miller up in both my Fantasy leagues when I had the chance. I like Adams, Craig, and Carpenter good group of hitters there. Quote

You think we will see that Cinigari kid again this year? Hoping so, he just got dropped in my league, if I can I will get him and stash him for later. Quote

Hoping so, he just got dropped in my league, if I can I will get him and stash him for later. Getting Cueto back will be a nice boost. I only see Cingrani coming back if there's an injury with a starter. While he did show promise, I can't see him taking Mike Leake's spot, and that's the only spot he'd have a crack at. I don't think he's fully ready yet, and Leake is no slouch as the 5th starter. Super User MCS Posted May 21, 2013 Super User Posted May 21, 2013 Man the Phillies are awful, Cole Hamels is 1-7 one win in seven quality starts that is rediculous. Who would want to pitch for them know they have no shot if they give up 2 runs. C'mon where are the bats at? Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted May 21, 2013 Super User Posted May 21, 2013 They are awful but scary thing is they are not that far out of first place.....now Chooch is on the DL and howard got a cortisone shot in his knee.  I also feel bad for Hamels but he should know how it is since last year was the only year in his career he got any type of run support.  This team totally baffles me....as a lifelong phillies fan i am almos to the point of saying blow the team up and start over which with Chooch and utley in their final years of their contracts may not be a bad start. Bring up Ruf to see if he can play out field and joseph at the catcher spot. I personally like howard and his power but he needs some decent hitters so they have to pitch to him.  I also like charlie but give Sandberg a shot and see what he can do because he was a great player and seems to a be a pretty good manager. 1 Quote
Super User MCS Posted June 1, 2013 Super User Posted June 1, 2013 Man Hamels imploded. Phil's are pretty hopeless now, the only bright spot IMO is brown looks decent. They should just trade lee to the O's who at least have a decent lineup and bullpen. Starting pitching is their lack. Tell u what it was disappointing to see gausman struggle wacha comes up n light out for the cards. So far all these talented pitching prospects yielded a mediocre starter in till man and a lefty setup man in the pen. While the rest struggle in the minors or with injuries. Guess it is on par with the expectations of Weiters and what we got, a good solid catcher but not the second coming of bench. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted June 1, 2013 Super User Posted June 1, 2013 I was looking at stats the other day and i had to refresh my browser a few times and check a few sites because i had no clue that hte phillies were first in teh league in quality starts. Â This team baffles me and Brown is playing like all the hype he had for the past few years......good thing i shave my head or i wouldn't have any hair left. Quote
