Super User MCS Posted April 4, 2013 Super User Posted April 4, 2013 Hamels got lit up early but settled down nicely. I blame it on him shaving the 'stache and it throwing off his weight balance Hopefully halladay does a little better but it sure was nice to see utley play well and get a triple and J-roll going first to third on a play he probably shouldn't have. I wanna see Halladay return to form, there are a fair share of skeptics out there though, don't see any merit for their doubts. Yeah good too see those guys healthy and looking young. Now I just want Howard to join the party but by the looks of the score board neither happened tonight Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted April 5, 2013 Super User Posted April 5, 2013 No sweep! gave Medlen his first L of the year.  Not only his first loss of the year but the first time his team lost in his last 20 or so starts. The phillies have been getting people on base but their hitting with RISP has been atrocious. THey could have put up 2-4 runs in teh first inning last night. As Charlie says, once it warms up it becomes hittin' season 1 Quote

Super User MCS Posted April 6, 2013 Super User Posted April 6, 2013 Kinda feel sorry for Roberts, the guy just can't get any breaks. It is just one of those things. I don't think he will ever be a regular again. At least this is the last year he will be with the O's maybe Jay Z will get Cano to give the O's a sweet contract LOL. 1 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted April 7, 2013 Super User Posted April 7, 2013 And the phillies actually get some much needed offense in a timely spot and from a pinch hitter no less......just don't remind me that it was against the lowly royals..... Quote

As long as they keep the Nats close enough until they heat up, they will catch em. Don't think the Nats will have the stamina for the long haul. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted April 7, 2013 Super User Posted April 7, 2013 I am with you on the nats. They are a good team but they faded down the stretch last year. Gonna be a fun race for sure....guess I need to get my tickets to see a game up in DC here soon Quote
Super User MCS Posted April 9, 2013 Super User Posted April 9, 2013 Marty Foster must have had a hot date and the game was running a little late so he decided to end it sooner rather than later. LOL 1 Quote

LOL Â Yea, that was beyond bad...even Nathan said something about it. Â Any clue on what's Doc Halladay's deal guys? Quote
Super User MCS Posted April 10, 2013 Super User Posted April 10, 2013 Yea, that was beyond bad...even Nathan said something about it.  Any clue on what's Doc Halladay's deal guys?  I think Halladay self diagnosed his issues as 90% mental and half physical? But no one knows for sure he is waiting on a second opinion from Yogi. How about Cole Hamels? At least Doc is racking up some K's, Hamels numbers are plain awful. 1 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted April 10, 2013 Super User Posted April 10, 2013 They are both plain awful with ERAs north of 10. Doc looks like he did when they yanked him because of hear exhaustion last season. Hamels, who knows because he had a decent spring. One last note....cliff lee for cy young!!!!! Dude is tearing it up. Quote
Super User MCS Posted April 10, 2013 Super User Posted April 10, 2013 Yeah lee is lighting it up, he had a similar year maybe 2 yrs ago just sick numbers. Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted April 11, 2013 Super User Posted April 11, 2013 What's even more funny is lee had pretty much the same numbers last year with no run support. I think I heard today that he didn't get his first win till late July last year. Quote

I love how Lee quietly just does what he does, he signed where he wanted to sign, he just goes out and pitches without making headlines etc. If that was the case with half these big $ number one guys they would be crying to the newspapers about how their team is screwing them out of the Cy Young. He would be a number 1 starter on most teams, he doesn't care 1, 2 or 3, lets just play ball. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted April 11, 2013 Super User Posted April 11, 2013 I agree. Total class act. I am not one to buy a player jersey because I root for teams but I may make an exception for lee Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 13, 2013 Author Super User Posted April 13, 2013 Bummer for those who have Greinke and/or Reyes.  I cannot believe Masterson has been my Ace to this point. Quote
Super User MCS Posted April 13, 2013 Super User Posted April 13, 2013 Yeah that greinke thing is weird, the situation surrounding the charge. 3-2 count lead off hitter for the inning and the guy that has gotten plunked most.....hmmm sounds like quinten just wanted to punch someone Masterson is crazy wicked so far. Good pick up J upton and coco crisp have been carrying my offense, coco smh eating wheaties lol 1 Quote
