Super User BassinLou Posted March 3, 2013 Super User Posted March 3, 2013 Went out yesterday out of MM35 in the Everglades thinking that with the high wind (25mph+) and colder temps fishing was going to be slow. I was very wrong. The fish were waiting for us, from the the very first cast til our last cast at the end of the day it was either a strike or missed strike on almost every cast. I stopped using the fish counter after 58 catches. It was a top water bonanza. Frogs, flukes, swimbaits, and the biggest of the day I caught on the Koppers mouse. The fishing was crazy and the wind was crazier. Since I have an aluminum boat you can imagine maneuvering. We had to deploy 15lb anchor to hold on key positions and even with that we were being dragged. We came home exhausted but with smiles on our faces. 1 Quote
Doubled Over Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Sounds like a great day! Wish I lived in Florida... Quote
FLcentral Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Awsome. I guess that supports the old saying go fish whenever you get the chance. It was 40 degrees and 30mph winds up here in central Fl yesterday. Quote
fstr385 Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 d**n, makes me wish I woulda have went out. Yesterday was the only day last week I didn't fish anywhere lol. good stuff Quote
Shane Procell Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Very nice brother! I can relate and confirm the bass are on fire in the glades. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted March 4, 2013 Super User Posted March 4, 2013 I didn't last but 10 minutes, too cold for me and worse today. If I wasn't a 7 day week fisherman I would have gutted it out. Quote
Super User MCS Posted March 4, 2013 Super User Posted March 4, 2013 Man my buddy went out this weekend ,too cold and just couldn't make time myself, but he said it was good fishing up here in the Jax area aswell despite the weather. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted March 5, 2013 Author Super User Posted March 5, 2013 Sweet fish Tstone!! Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted March 5, 2013 Super User Posted March 5, 2013 Nice fish man I had luk the first cold day we had caught 10 biggest being over 3. I lost one that could have easily been my PB. I m fishing from an elevated spot and as I'm reeling it swam underneath it and the line cut. It was huge and they always r way bigger out of water. I am going back out when it gets warmer today trying to catch it again, and I want my lure back! Quote
mg4u2nv Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Thats awesome lou! Never wouldve guessed someone could beat 'em up like that with how cold/windy it was! Great job! Quote
gar-tracker Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 These later fronts dont effect them as much, plus the waters been staying warm. Iv had some great memories in that canal. Not bad for a Louie. Quote
