Ditto on the 6'9 ML elite tech fast action rod. I have two of these rods and while I haven't thrown tubes I have fished 1/8 oz flick shakes and 3/16 oz drop shots. They work perfect for the 1/8 to 1/4 oz range. I would look at the medium if I was throwing 3/16 oz and up.

The rod weighs a bit over 3.5 ounces and is fairly sensitive and balanced. I would NOT fish anything over 8# test with baits in that weight class.

I throw mostly 1/8oz tubes looking for a new rod. Im interested in the fenwick elite tech smallmouth rods. Im just not sure if I wanna go with the 6 9 M XF or the ML F?

You did your research! Nice rod selection. You can also DS with this rod.

Cool thanks for the help guys ML it is

I've been checking these rods out too. Are you looking at the spinning or casting rod, and what reel do you plan to pair this with? I'm assuming you're looking at the spinning rod as I haven't seen a ML in the casting rods that I can remember.

Thanks for asking the question, I am coming into some cash (finally) and need two-3 more (ML, M/F or M/XF, MH/M) rods/reels to be fully prepared this season.  (Technically not need, it's want LOL)  I am hearing great things about the Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth rods, I'm going to have to check them out.

I second and third the ML fast for tubes in that weight class. I use a custom ML for most of my tube fishing in the 1/8 ounce and under. I have noticed that using a lighter lure than the rod recommends, I end up fighting bird's nest. just my two cents worth.
